Technical questions for those who access OH from an iPad

Sometimes a very weird thing happens when I use my iPad to access OH.  People's profile pictures change (sometimes other people's and sometimes my own).  Also, sometimes I get an avatar picture along the left hand side of a thread entry on the primary forum page but this happens less often.

For the last couple of hours, for example, my profile picture has appeared to me to be a picture of a blonde woman and a dark haired man!  That is the picture it shows me even if I tap on my own profile.  It shows my other pictures (of the dogs, of me with my pre-op jeans, etc.) just fine, but my avatar still shows the couple.  The only way I have found to get it to reset is to shut the iPad off and restart it.

Anyone else had this happen with an iPad.  Know what causes it or how to fix it other than powering off?  Usually any weirdness I encounter is with Microsoft gremlins, so I find it uncomfortable when it happens with an Apple product.

I've actually experienced very weird things with my iPad on this forum.  A lot of times if I double tap the home button and shut down safari then reopen it, it's typically resolved.

hmm i don't think i've ever encountered problems when using my ipad, but it's been a while since i've done that. i'll have to try on monday when i finally get my internet reset up. (instead of just transferring everything into my name my former roommate cancelled everything and i couldn't get an appointment until then and they won't let me just do it myself. grr!)

I haven't seen that one yet. I've actually been pretty satisfied using the iPad here since I figured out I need to use the plain text editor to post. That and of course the unbelievable number of times Safari just shuts down and goes black. It reminds me of the old windows "blue screen of death"

Hmmm... I use the regular editor with no problems except not having access to more than just the initial window's worth of smilies (the window won't scroll on my iPad) and sometimes having trouble getting links to insert in the right place in a post.  I don't have any problem with Safari shutting down.  It occasionally closes and takes me back to the main screen, but when I tap it, it reopens just where I was (and that sometimes happens if I am playing games as well). I have never had it go black on me.
Maybe something we have set up differently?
