What are you doing/eating today? Memorial Day!

No seriously...we can be accountable today. Really!

I'm about to go out and take a walk around the lake. I love living in this neighborhood!

After that I'm going to clean up a bit. I have a BBQ to attend later. I'll tell you all straight up how, at 4 years out, I handle BBQ's. I can eat. So I do. Not overeat. But I eat as much as I want to eat. I make up for it on the side of eating a LOT of protein and lower calories the rest of the day.

So here's my plan:

1. I'm drinking a protein coffee right now but I made it too fast so it had some floaties. Ugh! I skimmed them, though, and now it's all good.

2. Since the BBQ isn't until later this afternoon I'll probably have a few small snacks before hand. I'm in the mood for eggs so maybe some scrambled eggs and cheese. Or maybe some cottage cheese and strawberries. I dunno.

3. Whatever I want at the BBQ. But I have been fairly heavy on the starchy carbs the last few days which reminds me that...I actually don't like them that much anymore! So I think I'm going low carb. So some hot dogs with no bun, maybe a burger, I dunno.

Nik - whatever you eat, have a great time at the bbq!

Too early for food yet.... but I've had my 1st cup of coffee.  Today, eats are up in the air:

9:15 - Memorial day parade with the Cub Scouts.

This afternoon - celebrating my baby girl's birthday!  She's 11!  She asked to celebrate with a "girl's day out"..... my 24yo daughter's birthday was 2 weeks ago and we'll celebrate the 3 of us with an out to lunch & some shopping.  Food should be ok - oldest dd is a ds'er.... who is doing awesome & really needs the clothing part of the trip!

Enjoy your day!

Pretty humdrum, low-key day for me.  Meeting the guy who's building a cabinet for me (an hour away) to give him the stain I concocted to match the woodwork in my old house.   Then a stop at Home Depot  (if it's open) to get a new garden hose. But first, my protein shake. I think I'll make a pina colada one today.

When I get home, I've found a recipe for grilled chicken on skewers that sounds tender enough and yummy, so I'm going to grill them and some sweet potatoes.  Rest of my day....a walk, a good book and my knitting!

Have a happy holiday everryone!

Making protein iced latte with vanilla unjury, 10 oz skim milk, and instant coffee...once my brain starts to function, I'll figure out the rest. Heading to the gym in a minute so that will help, too. Breakfast will be an omelet...I'm thinking it's a lamb & Greek salad lunch day... and BBQ chicken & salad for dinner with the sugar-free BBQ sauce I made myself. :) Yum.

I'm drinking my second cup of coffee now. No food plans yet. I'll probably have a protein bar before I head out for my NSV. I'm going to get my legs and bikini area waxed. I'm so nervous and excited. This is something I've never done before and never would have considered at 278 lbs. Woo-hoo!

How much growth do you need to have between waxes.  I HATE shaving, but also hate hair so I've been thinking about trying this...
