Missing Khan, fear, and a carb-fest

Yes, I had to put him down because we were unable to manage the pain from severe hip dysplasia.

The primary reason I no longer have the alarm monitoring is that the monitoring requires a traditional phone line and a couple of years ago I switched to Internet phone.  I also did not like the fact that ADT would call both the home phone AND the alternate phone before calling police, but the phone line was the bigger issue.

It seems so weird to think that our pets all the same illnesses that we do.  When I was in college, my parents had to put my dog down due to complications from diabetes.  My dad was fine giving her insulin shots for years but when she needed dialysis at the age of 7, they felt it was time. She was just suffering.  I was so glad I was at college at the time, so I wasnt around to see it happen and by time I came home 5 months later, I had gotten somewhat over it.

As far as the alarms - that is crazy, with everyone going cable - there should be a way for them to be able to connect alarms to phones via cable systems.  If it hasnt already changed by now, I am sure it will happen soon
