That is such a food idea Rebbecca!!! I can see that happening up at our lake house , I am so frustrated right now with my brother , who has threatened to "come after me" because our dad's estate has not been settled yet, he swears sis and I have stolen almost 1 mil $, he thinks he should be the ONLY one to inherit even tho sis and I have taken care of dad for 18 years, he wanted his money BEFORE dad died...geeze , I imagine a lot of nasty stuff for him

he "says" he is going to sue us so he would actually be suing himself as he is receiving 1/3...some people are just DUMP

We were just on the other side of your problem. Was a mess short sales are. And yes, agents do not always know how to deal with all the agencies and factors that are involved with a short sale. In our case we were the buyer and wanted to close a year ago. With the housing problems in such a mess you would think that someone would think the the banks would move faster and take charge where someone is failing.
Hope your situation turns around ASAP.

I don't know anything about realtors and selling houses. I assume it's not an option to get a new (better) realtor?

Can you give Joe Idiot specific instructions, tell him what you want him to do? And tell him to stop asking you to do his job?

At this late in the game getting a new realtor wouldn't be the best idea if I just want this to be over. Plus the buyers are folks he knows so if he goes, I suspect the buyer will too. I'm sort of on a "everything happens for a reason" mindset now. It could honestly go either way and I can live with the outcome.

I sent him a DETAILED email with what to do next and told him that I will NOT be making any more of his phone calls. He had the nerve to get an slight attitude about that but I checked him real fast on it.

Does Joe Idiot have a supervisor? Or some kind of branch manager wherever he has his license? I say, go up the chain of command to find someone who can help, if at all possible.

Yeah, I called his supervisor. Waiting for a call back. I don't expect much though. Short sales, especially mine, seem to be regarded as a "side thing" for most realtors as the commissions can be low. For mine, I think he thought he was getting away with something. There was some sort of confusion on the amount of his commission. From the paperwork I have, the mortgage company is right and his overall commission is going to be low because he sold the house really low (even lower than he originally told the mortgage company). When he found out his commission was "reduced" (altho it probably never was what he originally thought it to be) is when the problems started.
