Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

I actually had half a hamburger patty with cheese for dinner, but then had some NSA vanilla ice cream with SF hot fudge -- a lot of it -- for dessert... and one Thin Mint cookie. Good thing there was only one cookie left.

These pics are how I will remember him most: stting with me and my comforter in the LaZBoy (I couldn't recline it with him in it because that shifted MY weight and then his weight (65+ pounds) would tip the whole chair!) and giving tons of kisses with his big, wet, rough, black tongue:

What a gorgeous companion he was. Such a beautiful coat, brilliant eyes, and such a friendly face. How lucky you were to be blessed to have him in your life, and how blessed was he to have you in his. I couldn't help but laugh as his obvious look of utter joy, and comfort, and your lack of smile while you had to accommodate such a big oaf that acted like he was a tiny lap dog in your recliner. It's hard to forge such a close bond, and I know in the days ahead you will miss him greatly. I'm hopeful that good memories will comfort you. May your heart heal, and may you find light, and comfort again soon.

Lora, I have thought of you often ever since you've shared the news of Khan's horrible problems with his hips. I have dreaded this day for you but knew it eventually would have to come, to give this precious boy relief.

Thank you so much for sharing these photos with us all. I laughed as well as cried when I looked at them all but especially had to laugh at the one of him sitting with you in your recliner. He was such a beautiful fur ball that loved his Mommy!! His love was proof in his expression in the photo of his giving you kisses.

Again, thank you for sharing the love between you and your beautiful Khan. Continue thoughts & prayers for you today and the many days ahead.
