I made a big crockpot of shredded beef and sweet potato stew last night. And then I added a bunch of quinoe, and by morning, it had morphed from stew into casserole. But it's yum, so I'm having that for breakfast.
Today's my birthday, so my mom is coming over and watching my kids while I go get my hair done. I'm getting 8" lopped off (I may see if I can do 10" so I can donate it, but I'd like to keep it below my shoulders), getting it thinned and layered, then going blonde! Yay! A bright strawberry blonde (to match my roots better) with light blonde highlights. Yay!!
Then dinner tonight with the family. I requested something special for my birthday dinner, so my mom is making her famous spaghetti bolognese. Mmm. Spaghetti is one of my most favorite foods ever, so I'm going to thoroughly enjoy. (in moderation)

I am in Denver, CO, 1,447 miles into my trip to my new home, and three of my incisions have opened up and have begun producing pus. I've called my DR office but they have yet to return my call. I grabbed some pictures of the city and the Rockies, but I'm finding it hard to fill the time as I wait for a response.
This is Day 3, and I'm finding that I'm not eating very well on the trip. By that I meant at all, not poorly. I've had some slices of ham, and a couple hardboiled eggs, a couple pickle spears, and a slice of cheese...over three days. It's hard to remind myself to eat when I'm not hungry and so focused on driving.
Once I...fill any prescriptions they give me (or possibly before if I don't receive a call) I'll be moving through to UT stopping frequently for pictures. That is my day so far, I think I'll go scope out the breakfast situation!

Sorry to hear about those that had unhelpful bellies today :( Hopefully it passes quickly and you all start feeling better.

On the menu for the day: Strawberry frozen slushie protein shake for breakfast. Tuna with a smidge of no-fat sour cream and celery seed for lunch. String cheese stick for snack. 3 0z. smoked salmon for dinner.
Starting tomorrow (when I can shop) , I've gotta start getting some veggies in...I'm getting pretty bored with protein-only meals. Looking forward to trying some of your recipes, Nik!

Yesterday was a good day. Today will be just as good, if not better.
I ended the day yesterday at just under 1300 calories, which is way low for me but I ate well and just was not hungry. Little to no grazing (I did eat two cherry tomatoes off the plants outside and had a handful of grapes during dinner).
I had an awesome sweaty yoga class. It was PACKED and I was sweating before we even got started... awesome.
My BodyMedia fit should be delivered tomorrow!
17 oz bottle of water on the way to work, followed by ho****er with lemon when I got here.
B - Fage, strawberries, splenda, Special K Protein cereal and ground flax.
Decaf with ff nd creamer and splenda.
Need to drink 48 oz water before lunch.
L - marinated chicken breast, black beans and a cheese stick. SF pdding cup if needed.
Need to get in 48 oz more water between lunch and leaving work.
I have a 1 1/2 scoop protein drink for this afternoon or a protein bar - whichever I'm feeling.
Dinner - probably more leftovers. I made zucchini boats last night for dinner. I ate one, hubby ate and I have 8 left over. The garden is really producing. I'll probably make some protein to go with it. It's a meal for me, but a side for the family...
Brought my running stuff to work today so I can go outside on the trail or straight to the gym after work. I haven't decided which yet, but there will be running today. Oh yes there will.

Feel better, Nik! I am right here with you. I have developed an icky cold myself. Sore throat, head pounding, feel kinda dizzy, cough/congestion going on here....but nevertheless....at work.

D-boiled chicken in a spicy salsa with black beans
S-??? I don't know if I'll need one, but if I do, probably veggie straws or a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich. I felt really crappy last night and barely ate dinner. Didn't need the snack at all.
