Vitamin help needed
Centrum Silver multi vitamin 2x a day
B-12 sublinguals 250mg a day
Liquid Calcium 1x a day
Dr. prescribed vitamin D 50,000 IU 7 days a week and then otc the rest of the month.
I just found out that my iron is really low and will need iron infusions so I would like to know which iron supplements are good and if I could be taking a better multi vitamin
You do need iron. I like carbonyl iron because it's absorbed well and usually does not cause constipation. The brand I use is Sundown Perfect Iron, but Feosol carbonyl is also good.
We need 1500-2000 mg calcium citrate a day. We can only absorb about 500 mg at a time, so you should be taking your calcium three or four times a day. Are you using calcium citrate?
For vitamin D, make sure you are using D3, not D2. D2 is not absorbed well at all.

again thank you for your help.
Feosol carbonyl is another good option. I know CVS carries it and I think Walmart may, too.
Make sure you take your iron at least two hours away from your calcium. If you take it with vitamin C, it's absorbed better. You need 200 mg C for every 30 mg iron.
The iron in a multi may be enough for some people. But if you are taking Centrum Silver, there is NO iron in your multi.

I do this:
Breakfast - multi, calcium, D3, A, Zinc (you probably don't need A and zinc). You can take your B12 here, too.
Lunch - calcium
Dinner - multi, calcium
Bedtime - Iron, C (you could do your fourth calcium here if you don't take iron)
