1. This song was #1 on the Billboard charts: Bootylicious, by Destiny's Child (that's embarassing)
2. A gallon of gas cost: $1.46 (wow!)
3. A gallon of milk cost: $3.69 (the highest price in 10 years, due to dairy shortages from foot & mouth disease)
4. The "mus****ch" television show was: Smallville (really? That long ago?)
5. The big news story of the year was (national, people, not local): The attack on the World Trade Center Towers. :( I remember exactly where I was. I was getting pulled over by a cop for rolling a stopsign. I had the radio on, and as the cop sat in his car, fiddling, I heard about the attack on the Pentagon. He came to my window, and I just stared at my radio. Looking up, I asked the cop if he'd heard about the attacks, and he grunted. Told me my engine was idling rough and I should get it looked at.
Went home, flew through the house and found my mom glued to the TV. We sat there and watched for the rest of the day.
...I don't think I ever paid that ticket.

7. My prom theme was: No theme. Ours was held in the ballroom at the Adam's Mark Hotel. There wasn't really a theme. My date was my good friend Will, who is flamingly gay, and we went with another couple and ditched early to go hang out under the Arch on the riverfront.
