2. A gallon of gas cost: 40 cents. (That seems a little high, actually. By 1975 in Michigan, 35 cents was our local high priced gas station's price).

4. The "mus****ch" television show was: The Watergate Hearnings. All In The Family. Mary Tyler Moore.
5. The big news story of the year was (national, people, not local): Watergate Watergate and more Watergate. Nixon resigned in August 1974, on my 19th birthday.
