Iron Infusions
Well here lately actually for a while now Iv'e been feeling really tired and really struggle to get out of bed and get going. Iv'e been going to my doctor every month now for about 5 months. Finally yesterday she had my ferritin checked and called me today to tell me that it was extremely low and I would need to do some iron infusions. In a way I'm relieved because I was beginning to think I was crazy and that thongs were in my head. On the other hand I'm nervous and don't know what to expect, I just hope that I feel better and have more energy. Maybe some of you that has been through this could give me a heads up and give me an idea of what to expect.
This may sound a bit silly but I love getting iron infusions... not the process so much but the way I feel after... My energy level has increased as well as my overall feeling of being healthy... I think being extremely low on iron just makes us feel yucky all over... anywho the process isn't bad... they run an IV and depending on the iron prescribed you may only be there for 30 mins or up to a couple of hours... they have a "push" type iron too and you only have to wait long enough to make sure you don't have a reaction to it... it requires an IV also but its really no biggie... I hope you get to feeling better and that the infusions help... they sure have me :)
