What's for dinner - Tuesday!

What. The. ELL!!!! (no, that wasn’t a typo)

I am hella-supa-dupa-SUPA hungry today! Yikes.

I got so hungry this afternoon that I did something I rarely do. I tapped into my Frankenfood stash. While I think the availability of protein enhanced, pre-prepared foods is great, I usually don’t like them very much. This one wasn’t so bad though. See below.

Here’s what I ate today:

1.      A Pure Protein bar

2.      A big ol’ mug of coffee with sf hazelnut creamer

3.      A crab ball

4.      A McD’s Southwest Salad w/ Southwest dressing

5.      A packet of protein creamy tomato soup (for 80 calories, 16g protein AND I’m not gnawing my arm off anymore this was not a bad deal. And the taste was actually pretty ok)

Dinner…not so sure about. My grilled pork chops yesterday were gooooood though. Not sure what I can do to top that frankly!

What’s on your plate tonight?

RNY Gastric Bypass 1-8-08 350/327/200 (HW/SW/CW). I spend most of my time playing with my food over at Bariatric Foodie - check me out!

Yesterday was a teeny tiny pouch day... today it is a little more vocal. Nothing some Nik's Taco Casserole can't fix though!

Cooked for my folks, tended my animals and then a heckuva workout with the trainer (upper body... so I can barely raise my water bottle!).

B - nothing (oops)
L - Nik's taco casserole w/ fresh from the garden 'maters and cukes
S - Gala apple slices with cheddar cheese, a few grapes
D - Same as Lunch
S - probably cottage cheese and peanut butter - Fiber One if I have some

Today I had a bit of cheddar omelet for breakfast.
A handful of green grapes for a snack.
Followed shortly by a protein bar...
And then I had a large sugarfree, nonfat iced turtle latte.
And then I had a few spoonfuls of "ham" salad.
And then I had a bite of a chocolate cupcake (I'm making them for friends. New recipe, had to taste it)
And then I had a Healthy Choice pot roast dinner. The whole damn thing. (took about an hour and a half to finish)

I feel like I've been eating all day long.

We got invited to a BBQ in the park tonight, so I'm sure I'll have a bunless cheeseburger or something for dinner. I hope they have tomatoes--I'm jonesing for a burger piled high with tomatoes.

[Edit to add] I'm pretty sure the Bodysnatchers have come and stolen the real me away.
I'm not a cake girl. I can throw down on a homemade pie or a bowl of ice cream, but cake does nothing for me.
And yet I just made myself physically ill eating half a chocolate cupcake, filled with caramel, topped in buttercream. What the HELL was I thinking?? On second thought, I know what I was thinking. I was thinking, "Girl, you're going to be so sick!" And sure enough, I am. Why did I DO that?!

A real Irish feast....Roasted chicken, 3oz, in the oven as we speak, steamed Japanese rice and steamed mixed veg. No rice for me, I don't eat it since surgery...no room really. Maybe an orange for dessert/snack later on.

I am pre-op

Tonight I attempted to make shrimp scampi.  It turned out horribly.

I would have much rathered just some shrimp sauteed in olive oil with garlic and shallots. MMM

Tried something new tonight: Bistro Sensations - Smoked Mozzarella With Artichoke and Garlic Chicken Sausage

They were recommended by my nutritionist and I must say, YUM!

They sell them at WalMart. Not sure where else.

Can't force the fluids down today for love nor money. I planned on roasted salmon for dinner, but maybe will have to have liquid protein for dinner instead. I really want an IV with a 1,000cc bag of normal saline dripping into me all day long. Life would be a lot easier.

After I shove the rest of this iced tea down my gullet I'll have a protein mocha roca.
