After many "miserable" posts I've posted over the last week, I am happy to say I finally have a good one!  I know I shouldn't, but I couldn't resist weighing myself this morning.  The result?  I'm down 8.5 lbs since surgery day last Wednesday.  Needless to say, I'm ecstatic and feel this was what I needed to bust me out of my depression funk.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think because I failed at so many other attempts that I naturally believe this will not work for me, either.  Prove me wrong body, prove me wrong!

Hang in there...that is what I keep telling myself! Like you, I too have failed at this weight loss torture for a very long time, I am terrified that my surgery along with my tool are not going to work for me. I started at 220 lbs 2 weeks prior to my RNY. I had been on a 2 protein shake and a sensible dinner for 12 days prior to my RNY. On my surgery date I weighed 209 lbs! I went for my 10 day post op and weighed 197 lbs, yesterday I went for a long walk to my mothers house and she asked if I had weighed myself yet. So, against my own rules of only being weighed when at the doctors office, I willingly jumped onto her scale...189 lbs!

Like you said, it did help me with my "depression funk and woe is me attitude" and I will be getting on my treadmill after I try to get a protein shake in. I hate the taste of everything that I have tried so far, makes me want to gag!

Like I said, hang in there and keep your eye on the prize! We did not gain the weight overnight and it will not take as long to take off the weight as it did to put it all on our bodies.

Take care!
