The past couple weeks I have been getting hunger pangs that I haven't had since before surgery. My guess is that it has taken this much time for my nerves to get back to normal. Wow.. I really did enjoy my time with no hunger but now the real test begins!

How much time passes after eating does this start to happen?

I'm just 3 1/2 months out and I haven't had hunger pangs except when I sleep in on the weekend and don't have breakfast until about 3 hours later than I would during the work week.

I'm not feeling that great since my dietician appointment yesterday though when she told me about the 6 month honeymoon period.  I had thought it was a year.  I haven't had a stall until recently and was thinking it was mostly because I hadn't been exercising and getting in enough water and eating a few carbs.

Stay strong!  You can do it.

Usually the hunger comes right around when I would normally eat lunch or dinner. I was just so used to not feeling hunger! You should still have some malabsorption until around 18 months out so you should still lose some up until then, it just slows down a bit. My first 2 months I lost 20lbs each and now I am steady losing 8-10lbs a month.

I've definitely read different things about how long malabsorption lasts and how long the honeymoon period is here in the forums.  Mostly seems to vary from 12-18 months out.  The return of hunger pangs differs amongst people as well.  If you aren't already having a little snack between meals I'd try a small number of nuts or some maybe a half piece of fruit.

Have you had any stalls in your weight loss post-op?

No real notable stalls. My body is just odd and I only really lose weight on the weekends lol. It is slow and steady now, and I am totally ok with it.

Hey Chirstine,
I started getting those too & realized I was having WAY TOO MUCH in between, although healthy, food! I stooped snacking & am back to 3 meals & I have not had any of those pains in about a week! You are looking fabulous!
