What are doing/eating today? Mother's Day!

Hey guys! It's sunny and beautiful this Mother's Day here in Baltimore.

My mood is ok (so far). I got up this morning and took a walk around the neighborhood. Went over to the community garden to ask a few questions (it's the coolest thing. It's a CSA where you actually contribute to growing the stuff. The ladies there showed me all the veggies and basically you go and work two hours a week and you take veggies home with you!). I also shopped for the contents of my Mother's Day brunch which La Petite Diva cooked with me.

So far I've had:

1. Early, early: a small piece of Ethiopian bread with Mesir Wat folded into it (a spicy red lentil dip)

2. Brunch: Whole-wheat French toast, turkey bacon, sausage

3. A cup of coffee made in my Keurig!!! (This was a good day to break out the Keurig as it was the last gift my mom ever gave me so somehow drinking that cup of coffee made me feel just a bit closer to her).

As for the rest of the day, I'm going to take flowers to mom's grave and then go check up on BDOBM (you might remember she had the Sleeve). Her mother "nominated" her to cook an entirely non-WLS friendly dinner (she posted on FB. Poor thing: ribs, mac 'n cheese, fried stuff...all while she is still on purees. I wouldn't have done it personally.)

I am also taking the girls to see their paternal grandma.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning, Happy Mother's day to you.

So far today I've had:

B. Oatmeal, skim milk, 1/2 banana
S. Protein Shake and a slice of ff ham (I was hungry)
L. The insides of a gyro when I get into town in a few minutes.
S. ????
D. ????

Took my Mother out yesterday since she was feeling good. She has stage 4 cancer so we take the good days when we get them. My son has to work today so I won't see him until tomorrow.

Are you pre-op or post? I couldn't tell from the info on your photo.

And Happy Mother's Day to you too!

Happy Mothers Day Nik!

I husband took me to brunch at the Cheesecake Factory this morning.

I had a few bites of the Baja chicken hash (the portion was ridiculous even for non op)
Later today he's going to get me some crabs

In a fit of overestimation, I bought a pound of strawberries two days ago. I'll take them to Mom's this afternoon. Neither she nor my daughter want to eat for Mother's Day , which makes things less complicated and expensive.

God help me, my urge to eat compulsively is coming back. Must...nip...in...bud!

1--  Mostly decaf with half and half
2--  Ounce of cheese -- Compulsive & unplanned!
3--  Protein smoothie
4--  3 oz. salmon. Will add flavor this time. Salmon was disappointingly flavorless.
5--  3 oz. salmon again
6--  Something else to top up protein and calories. No clue what. Time to pick brains for food ideas.  Braainz!  Braainz!

That's funny because I had that red lentil dip last night. A new place opened up and that was on the veggie platter. It was nice because I could share it with Michelle. I didn't eat the inera but just used a fork. The bread looked like it would fill me up too fast.

This will be my moms last mother's day. My older sister is with her today. I'm going with my son on Thursday. I'm happy I will be seeing her soon but so sad at the same time.

My mother in law is cooking dinner today. She is the best MIL in the world. The menu is based on what she and I wanted to eat. I'm going to play in the sun too.

I'll have a keurig coffee in honor of your mom.

Well I have 2 beautiful girls and somehow I find myself alone on Mothers Day as my husband takes them to his mothers for dinner. I knew it was not a good idea for me to go anyway...

Anyway, so far today I've had 3oz of protein shake and 3 oz of ff cream of mush soup. I am only 5 days post op and still have the downers.

Taking one day at a time!
