I am the face of bariatric regain (with pictures)
Ok, so feel free to burst my bubble if I am being egotistical.
But we all freak OUT about regain. I think I could be safely called “the face of bariatric regain."
Here’s me before, at 330 lbs.
Here’s me at my low weight, 172 lbs.
And this is me today, at a dead even 200:
(Here comes the bubble bursting part. You ready? GOOD!)
I don’t think I look bad at ALL. Perhaps I am delusional. But I like me at this size. I am a size 12 in the pants. The top is a large.
I go back and forth between wanting to lose and not wanting to lose more. Today is a “not" day.
So I guess what I am trying to say is that regain IS something you need to be mindful of...and in the end it's about being able to live in YOUR own skin. But in determining your threshold, consider the fact that you may juuuuuust be a little bit fabulous with those extra 3-5 lbs.
Just sayin.

By the way the smarmy looking guy in pic #2 is my brother, Manuel.

You look GREAT! At 172 pounds, at 200 pounds. Of course, this is coming from someone wearing size 10 pants, a petite large shirt, and a 36DDD bra... So I am USED to seeing something less than "skinny"! Seriously, though -- all the *****ing' and moaning' about the couple of areas that I should have paid to have Lipo'd when I had my PS notwithstanding -- I think that I, too, look pretty good in my clothes. Compared to what I looked at when I was over 330 pounds, I look FABULOUS! It is not quite the body I expected, and not the scale number I secretly wanted (even though I did meet my realistic goal weight), but I have been able to stay right around my rebound weight (7 lbs up from lowest weight), and since I am limited in physical activity, I think I have done VERY WELL.
I still sometimes want to stick my tongue out at the size 6 folks, though.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I can understand why the number of your weight distresses you... but you do NOT look like you're the weight you are. You have always looked so much smaller, tighter, better...
So if you can get the scale moving downwards, good for you... but if you don't, GOOD FOR YOU. You're fantastic...

Thank you for the lovely compliment, girl. From a SUPA DUPA hot chick, that means a lot.

Philippians 4;6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
