got my lab results

Got my latest lab results.  I am about 3.5 years out.

I’m not going to type out all the results because it’s about five pages, but I’ll just list the ones I think are most important and/or interesting.

Glucose 93 (70-99)

Total Protein 7.0 (6.4-8.3)

Albumin 4.3 (3.5-5.0)

Calcium 9.8 (9.4-10.2)

HDL 62 (33-96)

LDL 95 ( 24.00 (?5.38)

PTH 27.7 (10.0 – 66.0)

Vitamin A (free retinol) 57.6 (32.5-78.0)  This is my level with taking 25,000 IU dry A three times a week.

Vitamin E 14.9 (5.5-17.0)

Vitamin K 0.42 (0.10-2.20)

Copper 1.09 (0.75 – 1.45)

Zinc 0.78 (0.66-1.10) This is my level with taking 50 mg zinc twice a week.

Thiamin 154 (70-180)

Vitamin D (25 hydroxy) 108 H (30-100) This one is also flagged as high but it’s actually fine.  This is my level with taking 50,000 IU dry D3 three times per week – and it fell slightly from the last time I had labs.

Selenium 166 H (70-150)  I think I am the only person I’ve ever known to have a high selenium level and mine has never been high before.  I have no idea why it’s high now or if I need to do anything about it.

There is a note here that they had to cancel the test for B6 because the sample was not drawn correctly.  I am annoyed that no one called me to ask if I wanted to come in to have it drawn again.

I am certain that pre-albumin and iron were also ordered but they do not appear on my report.  I have to call and ask about those, and make sure they did not bill me for the B6 test that they messed up.  I find this highly annoying.

Most selenium in supplements is the wrong selenium.
But most people have no problem with selenium and it is actually advised not to supplement.
See my other post - reply about selenium.

Most multis do contain selenium though, other than Flintstones, and the ASMBS specifically recommends using a multi with selenium.

Are you aware of a decent multi (not chewable Centrum because the taste is gross to me, makes me nauseous, and not Flintstones) that does not contain selenium?  Because I don't know of any.

I do get Spectravite by CVS.  Some of them do not have selenium
Some do. I do take combination.
I do get "natural" selenium - in Brazil nuts.  They have tons of "proper" selenium.
CVS spectravite. Check that. I still take chew-ables. The pills - multi make my nauseous or make me burp...
