I guess all those things come out of fear. If you are living in fear you fear not succeeding.
I work hard chasing fear out of my life.

I don't think I've gotten hung up on a stall. Don't get me wrong, I like to see the scale move as much as the next girl. However, I can celebrate this:

I've lost 60% of body weight since my surgery last May.
As discovered earlier today, I've lost 76% of my excess body weight.
If I calculated it right I've had a 44% reduction in inches around my largest point.
Dropped 9 pant sizes (that's calculating by two's...though if I had my way...saying 18 is much more fun!).
Went from a men's 4LXT, peridocally 5XLT to Old Navy women's L vintage T (I freaking love Old Navy now).
I am no longer eligible to shop in the plus size stores.
I'm no longer considered medically obese to any degree.

It's true. I've been really frustrated this week. Mostly because the piddly little amount of weight I've lost is less than I've lost on my own before, without surgery. And especially with my 3 month labs coming up, it gets me a little stuck in "What the hell did I do to myself?" mode.

BUT... then I remember why I did this.

Because I might be losing slowly, but I don't have cravings for junk food the way I used to. My risk of piling the weight back on is a lot, lot lower.

My jeans are bagging in the thighs and butt again. Which means in another week, I'll probably get to go down another size. Woo!

At Temple the other night, I wore a cute dress and heels, and when I sat down, I crossed my legs. Didn't even think about it. I haven't been able to comfortably cross my legs for a couple years.

My body fat percentage seems really high (42%). But I only need to lower it 17% to get into a healthy range, and 17% seems pretty do-able and a lot less intimidating. And I've lost 32" off my body, so I imagine my starting BF% was a LOT higher. Wish I'd had it taken pre-op for comparison.

So yeah. It's easy to get stuck in the frustration of slow or no progress in the moment, but when you step back and look at the larger scale, there's a lot to celebrate.

I'm pre op and done a lot of work on myself mentally to be prepared for this. With all the research and reading to understand and make my choice, I know these things are part of my process.

Surgery date May 7 / 2012
Highest 312 lbs - Pre Op 297lbs - now 199 lbs
I know now that my location was never my destination.
