The Powah of Positive Thinkin'
New post-ops: Instead of thinking about the length of your stall, what if you celebrated how much weight, how many inches you lost? Or how much more fit you are?
Veterans: How about if instead of dwelling on a bounce, you concentrate on how much of a loss you have MAINTAINED up to this point?
I’m not saying we shouldn’t show concern for things. But I often wonder what post-op life would look like if we flipped those scenarios. I know for me, even trying to concentrate on my losses instead of my bounce makes me want to PROTECT what I have worked so hard for. When I was focusing on the bounce, it led me to feeling sorry to myself and asking “what the hell am I doing this all for?"
Anyway, random thought. Have a great evening!

- sit in any chair
- fit in an airplane seat
- walk around the block or even a half marathon!
- wash dishes without my back hurting because I have to lean forward to reach the sink
- hike
- dance
- get up and down from the floor easily
- almost any activity where you have to move more than a little
- climb a waterfall
- bike ride
- and the list goes on and on and on
And I like to dwell on how healthy I am and how many meds I DON'T take now that I did before.

The other day I was on the treadmill and I did my 3 miles and I had to stop myself from yelling "Boo-YAH!!!"

Seriously...with the move and stuff I have fallen off track. But not to worry! I'm going for the gusto to get at least four days this week (they won't all be at the gym but dammit I will get four days!) and then next week I'll get back on the horse.
...And yell Boo-YAH!

Reminds me of a nonsensical saying my grandmother had, "That person would complain if you hung 'em with a new rope".
