So let's talk fashion...

I hope this doesn't sound conceited but one thing I like about being thin is that most clothes look good on me.  When I was obese if I wore jeans and a t shirt or sweats I looked like a slob.  Now I can wear them and I look fine.  I have a hard time going shopping because most of the stuff I try on that fits looks good.  The only things I cannot wear are bikinis, short shorts or mini dresses, because of my legs and my open scar on my abdomen.  And I can't wear low cut or many halter type tops because my boobs don't quite fit.  And forget about tube tops.  I guess I lied, most things don't look good on me.  But the things I like are okay.  I also dress more for comfort then looks.

Tazz I know exactly what you mean.  When I was obese, no matter what I wore or how hard I ried clothes did not look good on me...we can't hide obese - not me anyway.

I recently changed hair salons.  I went to the same guy for 5 years.  He is the mostly talented stylist I have ever seen, but he does what he wants - no**** the client wants.  I wear my hair short, but he always over cut it and over thinned it.  I would leave and complain for weeks until I had new growth.  I kept telling him I was trying to grow it out some, but each time I scheduled an appointment, I left very unhappy.  Finally a few months ago, after my oldest daughter kept telling me how insane this was, I severed that relationship and began using a new salon.

I was thinking about that yesterday and wondering why I stayed with him for so long.  Is it because I was so accustomed to "not liking the way I looked" that having a bad hair cut was normal for me.  Did I believe no matter whay I did with my hair it would not look good...like clothes did when I was obese.

I bet most things do look good on you, by the way.

I never used to care about clothes. I felt that no matter what I wore it was going to look awful anyway. For the first time I am excited about clothes and I haven't even had my surgery yet. I am looking forward to clothes that fit right. I have some really cute stuff now, but it doesn't look right becaues of the way I carry my weight. Some of the shirts make me look like I am 9 months pregnant and that is definitely not the look that I am going for. I am looking forward to being able to walk into any store and buy clothes.

I love my present fashion so will continue to dress the same but in smaller sizes.  I hope to alter a few of my things.  I'm probably one of few if not the only one not looking forward to buying new clothes with the exception that it means I am smaller.

i am by far into fashion...if i like it, and it fits and its comfortable..i wear it.....i have been getting slightly into more of a western type of flair if i may say so myself....the last time i wore a dress...ummm..i got married...and ummm...that was almost 30 years ago....so nope dresses, nope no heels....
but i got a couple pairs of boots this winter and i can rock those for sure...along with my what i call my cowboy jeans..ya im good...i dont know designers either.....
perhaps there may be some help for me some day...but most likely not....i wear whats comfortable thats for sure..

everything, but i am broke lol.

i too have been eyeing the pinup style bikinis (maybe partly because my one paper is on pinup style and its on my mind), but they are super in right now, and the bottoms go up high enough to hide the tummy bulge and only show what looks flat and scoops a little futher down the leg to hide some thigh junk. the tops also tend to be more supportive which i definitely need!

i just love sundresses so that's probably what i'll mostly acquire. for some reason i've never found jean shorts comfortable so i opt for dresses when its hot.

I am having a serious love affair with really soft, flirty, vintage styles and bright, bold colors.
I like fascinators in my hair, headbands, beaded necklaces, and swingy a-lines.

I have a Pinterest board designated specifically to my style. :) You can see I'm kind of a shoe junkie.
