I eat about a cup of food at a time, which my dietician said was a good amount.  1/2 a cup would not fill me up at this point.

This is really good to hear.  I've been put on a medication that has caused a huge weight gain (almost 40lbs in about a year (144 to 179, while sticking to around 950-1050 calories per day!).  I'm hoping to get off this medication in about a month or so, but I've been terrified that this is it - and maybe my body just wasn't happy at the 140 range.

Medication sucks.  lol

I had to come off the medication due to side effects, one of which was weight gain.  There were a few other side effects I found intolerable, too, especially all added together.  But the weight gain alone was too much for me.  I don't know how much I might have gained if I'd stayed on it.  I was scared I was going to get really heavy again.

Thanks for sharing Kelly. We really appreciate the information. It helped me today realize that my success in not determined by others success. It is has been hard since I've only lost 15 pounds since my surgery and over 22 inches. I must agree that my success is in my own time.

Thank you Kelly for all the kind and good advice.

Congratulations on the 3.5 years!

About 8 years ago I was put on a medication that was known for weight gain.  By the time I had my revision I had gained 100 lbs.  I honestly don't know if it was all the medication, some of the medication or non of the medications fault.  All I know is that I was ravenously hungry all the time and I never felt satisfied.  I was either starving or sick, no in between.  I tried to go off the medication but my symptoms (it was for depression/anxiety, actually along side my antidepressant to make it work better) always got worse, to the point of suicide.  I tried other medications and they didn't help.  I told my doctor that I would rather be alive and fat then dead and thin.  I finally did go off of it around the time I had my surgery.  I don't know if that is why my weight loss has been good or what.  After some fiddling around I was put on some meds that help, but don't eliminate the depression.  For me, going from as bad as it was, it is tolerable now.

I didn't feel the meds were helping the depression, and the weight gain was making me depressed.  I had other side effects, too, including severe constipation, my mouth was so dry I was getting sores in my mouth, and then I had a period that lasted more than a month.  I was so glad to get off that med.
