I never ever thought I would have this problem, I don't want to eat.  I got a cold two days ago and I feel crappy and I lost my appetite.  I am still on my liquid high protein diet but everything I am suppose to eat just doesn't appeal to me anymore.  I did have issues with my water intake but I did resolve that now I am having issues with my food intake.  I am taking all my vitamins on schedule but the food is getting harder to eat.  Any suggestion?????

You're only 10 days out so don't be too hard on yourself. Try to get your protein shakes in. It will get easier. You need to keep your nutrition up along the way so you don't totally screw up your metabolism if you want a chance of getting to goal and maintaining.

It's pretty common...I know I didn't have much of an appetite for 3 mths!!!  I second what Laura said...keep up with your protein drinks and fluids and the rest will come. Good luck!

LIke the above said - u are still early out and that is normal - just keep doing what you are doing and get in all your protein for now. Your appetite will come back, but it will be different than before. You will have to remind yourself to eat - at least for me that is what I have to do.
Hang in there !!!

I lost my appetite and my interest in eating after the surgery.  It will be five years in October and I still am not hungry and care very little about eating.  I am so glad that it worked out like this for me.  Food used to be so important in my life and now it is just another thing I do, like washing dishes or doing the laundry.

I know I need to eat and I do, but there is no hunger ever.  I had a ham and cheese sandwich for dinner last night.  Ate about 1/3 at 7:00.  Had another 1/3 about midnight and the rest for breakfast today.  I threw away most of the bread part.   I eat six times a day and about 200 calories each time.

I always make sure that I get in my protein and water.  I have lost all my weight, have lots of energy, wear size 4 jeans and my labs are all great.   I maintain with no problems as long as I get in at least 20 minutes of exercise everyday.  If I slack off on movement, the scale starts to creep up.

My suggestion is to enjoy this.  Eat as little as you please, drink the protein shakes and water and enjoy this new life.  One thing that does help when you cut back on solid food is to take some benefiber.  You will be glad you did.  All protein shakes is not helpful with keeping things moving.
