For Kelly: Strictures
RNY on 05/07/12
Kelly, do all the surgeries pose the risk for strictures? Why do some have a problem and some do not? Thank you. Jane in California
I'm not really sure. I am thinking it would just be RNY because it's a narrowing of the opening between the pouch and small intestine. With VSG and DS, they don't make any new connection there. The pyloric valve is still in place. So I'm not sure where the stricture would occur, or how.
