I did have to remind the phlebotomist that some had to be light protected.  When I reminded her, she tried to act like she knew that and was planning to do it, but she was getting ready to stick and did not have any of the sleeves handy.  When I reminded her, so had to walk across the room to get them.  She took 14 tubes altogether.

Which labs need to be light protected? I use LabCorp I hope they are doing things properly.

Most of the time, I don't need to remind them.  But a couple times I have needed to.  I think it's because those are vitamins they don't draw very often.

Whoa hold the phone here! You had 14 tubes drawn? Is this the norm for our labs? I am so bad with blood draws 6 vials max I can handle....I better be laying down for my lab checks.

Thanks for the info on the light sensitive draws I printed this out to bring with me on my lab visits....where btw I hope we do no more than 6 vials of blood ;-)

It is amazing the amount of tubes they draw.  And it is not cheap when I look at my bill for the insurance.  Thankfully they cover a lot.

Yes, it's normal.  If they only draw six vials, they are not checking many things.
