This is DISGUSTING

Oh yeah, I would never say ban the place. But there is a certain silencing effect to boycotting...

Altho, I don't think this restaurant is going ANYWHERE. I won't be dining there myself.

And you actually more clearly said what I was thinking. It IS that assumption that we will eat anything simply because it is there. Ugh!

The choice to eat such a thing is everyone's right, but the fact that this place offers their food free if you are over 300 pounds is repulsive to me.

I equate that to giving an alcoholic free drinks at the bar....drug addict free drugs...etc.

Just supporting such unhealthiness is so uncaring.   And most people (myself included)  will jump at something that is free, especially in this day and age when we are in such money difficulties, so I can see why someone would go for that offer, even though it would be such a bad choice.

OK, I'm done with my rant (but inside I'm still pissed!

Yeah, I am not interested in telling anyone what they should and should not eat either. But I think if folks took a moment to think about the underlying statement this restaurant is making, they'd be equally infuriated. The fact that society finds this ok is yet another example of our culture's fascination and coveting of excess, which to me is sad.

Also, how exactly does one PROVE they qualify for a free meal? Is there a scale? Or does the waittress take your word for it because "you've seen one fat person, you've seen them all"?

Grrr...I just got mad all over again!

I'll be honest, before my surgery I would have totally chowed down on one of those babies. Even though I wouldn't(and can't) eat one now it's still looks tasty!
