I was rear ended on Thursday pretty hard. I was a bit sore in the neck and back that day and now today, I feel the worst since the accident. Has anyone been through this? It seems weird to me, I would have thought the worst days would be the day after or something?

Each time I have gotten whipla**** has been 2 to 3 days after the accident. And everytime I have been bucked off a horse, its always the worse a coupld of days later.

Agreed...one never really feels it until a couple days afterward...

Sometimes one doesn't experience the effects for years afterward...I was involved in a pretty wicked two-car collision in '85....in '88 while staying at a friend's house I bent over to get something out of my overnight bag after showering and heard a loud pop and then was unable to stand erect...managed to get dressed enough and my friend got me to an ER where it was learned that I had displaced a lumbar...the doctor posited that the impact of that crash years earlier was probably the beginning but that years of poor posture, steady weight gain and weakness in my core brought it about.

Got a script for some serious anti-inflammatories...from there my friend prevailed on another friend of his who was a chiropractor who managed to get things corrected enough that I could stand up, sit down and at least move with a minimum of pain...THEN we finally got to dinner where I put away a bottle of wine by myself and that helped a great deal.

I've had lower back problems ever since...I'm hoping to lose enough weight to make those issues go away...

First of all, I'm sorry you got hit. I've been rear ended too and it's scary. Just like when you do a new work out and use your muscles differently, when you've been in an accident, your body is jarred very hard and whipped around. It takes a bit for your body adjust and you get sore. Move and stretch as much as you can unless you are in a lot of pain as this will help work out the soreness. also, be sure to drink lots of fluids. Lactic acid builds up in injured muscles so when you stretch or work out, the muscles release it. The water helps flu**** out and helps reduce the soreness.

Hope you get better without any complications.
