Hey Kiddo,

Just want you to know that I'm sending you some extra positive energy right now.  I've been getting the sense that you're struggling lately, and just want you to know how much you are cared for and what a bright light you are for so many of us...

Kelly,
How many times a year do we need to have our blood drawn??? and who does it the surgeon or PC doctor??? What are they looking for??? Anyway many (((((((HUGS)))))) to you, why dont you use the if then method to reward/punish your self??? If you go get your blood work you will ....... and if you don't you'll have to do something you hate...??

Most surgeon recommend labs every three months the first year, then once or twice a year after that.  I do mine (well, I try to do mine) every six months but obviously I am late this time.  I don't think once a year is enough.

Any doc can order the labs.  My PCP orders mine.  Docs don't usually draw the blood themselves, though.  I go to the lab at my local hospital to get mine drawn.  I've had it drawn a couple times at my PCP's office (there is a phlebotomist there) but last time, after I sat there for a long time waiting for them to get everything ready, she told me she did not have all of the necessary tubes and I would have to go to a lab to get it drawn.  So now I just go to the hospital.

What are they looking for?  About a million things.  Vitamin and mineral deficiencies, problems with blood sugar, cholesterol, signs of liver trouble, etc.

You're always so good about helping us with our labs, that I'm glad you're finding a way to hold yourself accountable.  Please post when you get them done, or I'll send a reminder :-)

Ok, I haven't had to do this in YEARS. But if you don't post on Tues that you got your labs, I will show up at your bedside singing this:

I've done it before. I will do it again.

OK, now I'm really tempted to not get them done Tues.  If you show up to sing, could you bring food?  Or tell me what to buy and I'll shop for it tomorrow and then when you're done singing, you could cook for me?

If I, the QUEEN of procrastination, can go in and get my 18 vials of blood drawn like I just did last week, I know you can do it!  Get in there and get that blood tested.  TUESDAY!!!  NO EXCUSES!!!

Suck it up girl. I'll be getting labs drawn on Tuesday too. I get labs every week. They know me by name at the lab. I've read every magazine in the lobby.
Don't make me hunt you down.
