I need a kick in the butt... or something

Tuesday morning I am planning to go get my labs drawn.  I have written it on my calender in the hopes that that will make it actually happen.  I have been meaning to do that for about three months now and keep putting it off for various reasons.

I am hoping that by posting here that I am doing it Tuesday, I will be motivated to actually go do it because I won't want to come on here and say nope, didn't get it done.  Plus, if I've announced that I am not getting my labs done when I should be, then I cannot yell at people for not getting their labs done and I don't want to miss all that fun.

I don't have any really good reasons for putting it off so long.  I mean, I'm great at making excuses so I could give you some... but I'm not fooling myself, I know they are just excuses.

Good luck Kelly! i know how tough it can be to get motivated to do something you don't want to do. sometimes after that first step, it gets easier!

Looking forward to the tuesday report of your labs done!

That's one of the reasons it's a pain in the butt to do it.  It takes them forever just to get ready to draw my blood because they need 16 tubes and some of the tests are ones they don't do very often so they take forever to figure out which tubes they need and which ones have to be light protected and stuff.  Maybe I should figure out which tubes they need and just take them a list.  Hmm.... I wonder how I would figure that out?

16???  Holy cow!!!!   Last time I had my labs drawn I think it was "only" 8.   It could be worse. You could be like me and had lymph nodes removed on the good arm rendering that arm useless. Now I can only have blood drawn on my left arm and those veins suck.
So what day are you going to do it so we can bug ya?   LOL

I'm going Tuesday.

If they only took 8 tubes, they missed a lot of things you might want to get checked.

Yea, I was thinking the same. I think I have had my blood drawn about 7 times already since the beginning of the year but it doesnt matter if certain things aren't checked. I'm going to have to grab a list of things that need to be checked to ask for them to be checked when I go for my next labs on 5/21. I am having surgery on the 22nd. (lung surgery and total hysterectomy)

Just saw your comment about only one arm with bad veins!  I know exactly what you are talking about--I'm in the same boat.  I had 18 vials drawn last week.  Just wanted to send you my best wishes on your upcoming surgery.  Mastectomy 7-1/2 years ago, total hysterectomy 2 years ago, so I understand.  Hang in there.

Thanks!  It's been a rough 1 1/2  years but I'm still winning! It would be so much worse trying to battle this being 140 pounds heavier.
I had a double mastectomy as well. Hysterectomy is preventative. Lungs is for nodules that have so far biopsied as benign (thank God!!)
