To everyone who ordered Quest Bars through Bariatric Foodie this past week, I just wanted to report back that I sent my friend Ruby Sue, who lost her adult son unexpectedly, the first of two contributions from the "Foodie Nation." Unfortunately the way I am paid by Quest they break up a month's commissions so the 2nd will come later. Hopefully it's one of those "everything comes in its own right time" sort of situations.

Since then I found out a bit more about how her son died. He had apparently had some health problems and had a heart attack. After he passed they found he had a condition nobody ever knew about. From her Facebook posts she seems devastated still (understandably). For those who didn't see the original story on this, her adult son had no insurance and she has been relying on the help of friends to bury him.

Having just gone through this with my mom (I had to take a $10k draw from my retirement to bury her) I just really felt called to help. I would do what I did again in a heartbeat and am so thankful I had the resource to use. So this is how I show my thanks!

Anyway, at the risk of getting trouble here, I will say if you would like to help out I am donating my entire April commissions to Ruby Sue. So if you'd been planning to order Quest bars anyway, consider ordering them on Bariatric Foodie through the ad on the right menu bar.

Again, thanks to everyone who already did. Not only did you help a WLSer in need, you helped ME do something that makes me feel closer to my mom and helps me start to get past her untimely death.

I ordered via your link but am unsure about the status.   I thought I chose to pay by credit card and then at the end of  transaction was directed to send a check to the company.  (no cc info was entered)  I didn't know if I was to mail a check before I get the order or if I get the order and then mail a check.  I wasn't worried about it because I've always gotten an email confirmation on anything I order via internet but this time nothing.  I thought I'd wait it out and see if I get the product in a few days and if not call the company and see if they have record of the order.  I didn't write down a code since I expected an email notification.   It's probably been 4 days since order placed.

I doubt they are going to send you anything before you've paid for it. You might give them a call to see if they put your order through.

I recently tried the quest bars and I love them!!! Glad to be able to help your friend with the order.

If I click on the Buy Now button on your blog and am taken to the Quest page, then go to their order page, does Quest know I went through your blog so you get your commission?

 I received my two boxes yesterday and the couple I've tried are YUMMY!!!! These will now be my go to protein bars.
