OT - Something to make you smile on a Thursday
My neice, Brielle. She says, "Hi! Now go (take your vitamins/drink your water/get your exercise/drink a protein shake)!" Isn't she so motivational for a three week old???? (And, if I do say so myself, she posseses her Aunt Nikki's flair for working a camera.)

Me either. Although I have to say I have never actually seen an ugly baby...I have seen a few that weren't the cutest. But thankfully my "Bri" is adorable!
This begs the question though. What if you actually DID see a baby that was genuinely not attractive. What exactly do you say?
I'm thinking something like, "Well look at you! Bless your heart..." but then people in the South know what that means and then I'd get beat up for sure.

I have seen an ugly baby before, and she is not it. She is simply gorgeous!! I know you love that girl!

I've seen ugly babies. In fact, when I was in labor with my daughter, there was a poster on my wall of a REALLY ugly baby. My husband and I joked that it was not at all encouraging. I don't like to lie, so usually, I'll comment on a specific feature. "Oh my, she has such big brown eyes!"
Bri is a beautiful baby. She looks so smooth and alert. Babies are usually so wrinkly, and she's not at all. Just lovely.
My daughter was an ugly baby, LoL! She was SO fat and squishy. But she eventually evened out and became lovely. Teehee. Babies make me smile.

And she seems curiously advanced for such a young child. When they came for the funeral she was barely two weeks old and could already hold her own head up, was alert and responsive and was trying to sit up. I told her do NOT get out of the way for another baby cuz...um...your parents are kinda poor. LOL.
My oldest looked like an alien when she was born. She was so scrawny!!! The younger one was more plump and she had the most gorgeous black, shiny eyes. Both are beautiful children now, although my 13 year old is a damn brick house already. Need to buy a lead baseball bat to keep the boys away.

She is absulutely beautiful! If her parents ever get tired of her you know where to fine me ;)
And sadly, I have seen an ugly baby before and it was my first daughter. I know. The nurses at the hospital were so afraid I was rejecting her that they brought in nurses from all over the hospital to come to my room and tell me how pretty she was. I caught on to that pretty fast. I loved her (and still do) with all my heart but I am sorry, she was homely. Here is a picture of her right after she was born. She looked like Buddy Hackett. Fortunately, she turned out to be a beautiful 24 year old woman.
