Pending approval....
I am so not a patient person. My surgeon has submitted for approval with May 30 surgery date. I have been told by his surgery coordinator "they will deny". So I am going to keep myself busy by preparing my appeal...just in case. But I need to think positive and know that all things work according to God's plan for my life..not MY plan for my life. If I had my way I would have had surgery years ago. Or better yet...made better choices to prevent the extra weight I am carrying around.
So...for all you others waiting for approval...I am praying for you as well. We are in this together!!!

What a great attitude you have, Lisa! And good for you for laying the groundwork.
My surgeon's insurance person also told me they would deny me due to not having enough supervised weight loss visits. I called and spoke with a bariatric review nurse at my insurance company, who assured me the insurance person was incorrect.

My 6 month pre-op eating plan was not consecutive, so there was concern I would be denied. I was prepping for appeal and all that good stuff, but was approved. I hope it goes as easily for you.
And it's funny about the plan...I wanted the surgery pretty much 2 weeks after my approval because I also suffer from lack of patience (my friend call me instant gratification girl). I had to wait until the 22nd of May though. However, this meant my Mom could come from Florida and help my hubby and watch my 5 year old, and the day I get my drain out is Memorial Day so my hubby doesn't have to take a vacation day to take me up to have it done, plus with the holiday, I (fingers crossed for no complications) will have enough vacation time to cover me so I don't have to go on short term disability.
I could not have worked out better.
Good luck...sending good vibes your way!
