What's for dinner - Tuesday!

I thought I was having a big pouch day...until I did my food log. I was about to gnaw my arm off. No wonder! All I'd had was a protein shake and a Quest bar all day. I just had a little packet of protein oatmeal (I only keep bariatric snacks at my desk...keeps me honest) but I am due for something savory. I want to try a recipe I found online for spicy mustard greens with sausage and tomatoes.

I dunno if the divas will go for that but I can try, right? I'm REALLY attempting not to overbuy food leading up to the  move. In fact, I'm trying to "spend down" the fridge and just stock the new house directly from the grocery store.

Oh...did I forget to mention...I GOT THE HOUSE!!!!!!

(Sorry...meant to post that in a separate thread but you all know me...attention span of a gnat.)

So anyhoo...just to re-iterate. Here's what I've had today:

1. Click Frapp (that turned out the consistency of a Frosty. It was beautiful.)
2. Brownie Quest Bar
3. Packet of protein oatmeal

So far I am at 570 calories, 79g protein. Yep...I think I can plan (i.e. justify) an "obligatory carb" in there somewhere.

What's on YOUR plate today?

 You got the house!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to my favorite restaurant. I ate the best meal I ever had in my life there.
We are going to celebrate the 3 month anniversary of receiving the kidney. It's french, fantastic and I can't wait.

A good day for both of  us!

 Are you buying or renting?
Is there a little yard?
What's the best thing about your new house?

Oh chile, no bank is gonna give me another mortgage for a loooooong time. And that's fine with me! I bought this house at age 23 (which was too damn young in my humble opinion). I've only ever rented one place before this and had only lived on my own for about a year and a half before I bought this house. I am SO looking forward to the first time when something breaks and it is NOT my problem...or my whole paycheck gone.

Yes, there is a little yard. The SLIGHT downside is that my yard faces a cemetery. But hey...at least I know it is quiet (I have advanced amazingly fast to the "can joke about death" stage of grief over here. This is probably abnormal).

Um...the best part to me is the location. The house is cute though. It has hardwood floors downstairs. A REALLY big dining room. The kitchen is little but I can work with it. The basement is unfinished but I can work with that too (has a washer dryer hook up. I have not lived in a house with a washer and dryer for 13 years so I am beyond excited!). The bedrooms are carpeted and all are a nice size. It has a porch big enough for a few chairs and a table and there is grass in the front yard.

For Baltimore, it is a little slice of heaven that happens to be a stone's throw from the YMCA, the farmers market, a public library, a university, a Subway, Chipotle AND a Cold Stone Creamery (not sure if that last is such a great thing).

My grandmother lived next to a cemetery. We used to walk together through there all the time. We would make up stories about the people buried there. She had a great imagination. Sometimes I still walk through cemeteries. I'd like to think if I was buried in one that folks would wander by.
It's great it's near the market. I would be safe by stone cold. I cannot eat that stuff. I didn't even really like it pre surgery. It's just too thick.
I envy you getting to put your stuff up. That to me is the best part of moving in. Deciding and knowing where everything is. I haven't moved in a long long time.

My guts rebelled against all of the sweet peppers I ate yesterday (some for snack, some for dinner, another one for snack) so I have not been hungry much today. I worked out with the trainer (195.5 lbs!!!! WOOT!) and now eyeballing the long side of a 10hr shift at work.

B - mint cookie protein shake w/ skim milk (took me a while to get it down, but I did it)

32oz water before the gym, 16oz during, 8oz Powerade Zero after

L - Quest apple pie
S - probably another Quest
D - tilapia, asparagus
