Anyone scared/intimidated to exercise? I am! I have the desire but I get anxiety about starting. I also hate the way I look when I'm sweating. Anyone have a problem with not liking to sweat? It's like I feel so uncomfortable sweating.

Yes, yes, and yes! I turn completely purple...last time I was in a gym, the staff came up to me and asked me if I was ok....and I'd only been on the elliptical thingamajig for 10 minutes! I was mortified! Hate sweating. It's gross. I've spent my entire adolescence/adulthood trying to HIDE sweat...now all of a sudden it's ok????? I don't think so...lol. I know it's a necessary evil, and I keep making excuses!!! I did go for a really nice walk on Saturday. Luckily, I have beach down the street from my house, and it was a beautiful evening.....so I finally broke down and did it. Didn't win a gold or silver, of course, but baby steps are better than nothing! Hang in there!!!

i hate sweating but it doesn't stop me from working out. it's always hard getting started, but it gets easier, and you actually miss it on days you don't make it to the gym

If you hate sweating you should try water aerobics. It's a great workout and you feel refreshed afterward!

How about just adding movement? I'm fortunate enough to have a store with many of the groceries I buy about a mile and a half from me, as well as the public library about a mile and a half in another direction.

Either way, I get a 3 mile walk (which I try to do faster each time) round trip, and I add weights by carrying what I bought or the books I'm returning/checking out.

It's still exercise, but doesn't involve the gym.

Another possibility is yard work. I work up as big a sweat raking/thatching the yard as I do using the weights at the gym, but again, there's no gym pressure.
