NSV with an observation...
So, this morning my wife and I had an appointment which meant that for the first time since sugery, I had to wear my regular clothes (not my baggy, ultra comfortable sweatpants and soon-to-be oversized mock T from Casual Male...God...I cannot wait until I no longer have to shop there).
A few days back in an earlier post I had whined that my jeans fit as they are supposed to...they weren't even baggy...WELL...what I noticed today is that I hardly spent any time hiking them back up to my waist...maybe twice throughout the entire morning and early afternoon (and that used to be something I did every half-hour or so...and not because they were ever too big, but because my belly would force them down onto my pelvic area)...I had no idea how tired of that I had grown...
Walking around Treasure Island (the main grocery store in Hyde Park) I realized that I really didn't have to pay attention to whether or not my trousers were staying up or slipping down...
When I mentioned this to my wife, she was completely oblivious...as though she had never noticed (maybe she hadn't)...but it occurs to me that many of these types of NSVs are probably going to be things that only I notice or that matter only to me...not because my wife doesn't care, but she probably hasn't noticed or doesn't know what a pain it was before and its noticeable absence.

I can relate to that because my husband pulls his pants up all the time for the same belly reason , he is not having surgery though.
Some things it is only us that see it / feel it.
Aren't the little things fun????

Congrats!! These little things are the hopeful glue that sticks together all the big milestones and makes the journey so fun. It amazes me how quickly they start to happen too, once you stop looking for them.

I drive by a Casual Male on my way to work, and often think to myself, "Thank GOD I don't HAVE to shop there anymore." Buying size 58 shorts was soooo not fun, but they were the only store that sold them- and at crazy high prices!
Being able to go into a "regular" store and buy things of the rack, is flippin' amazing. Let us know when you get there, you'll love it!
Congrats on the NSV- here's to many more!!

OH!
Believe me, I will!!
Stand-up comedian Ralphie May once observed that you never see anyone who is tall shopping at any Big and Tall clothing stores...only guys who are big (read as 'fat')...although, I love the cotton Ts that are just slightly heavier fabric than a typical undershirt, but I've been doing some preliminary online shopping at it appears that I can get a similar garment damn near anywhere...
Truthfully, as much as I anticipate enjoying being able to purchase off the rack at a regular retail establishment, my disdain for having to shop/purchase in a store will keep that to a minimum...I'll take much more pleasure in being able to purchase regular-size clothing online from LL Bean or Eddie Bauer.

Very true, I prefer quality items too (love my LL Bean fleece!) but there is nothing quite so amazing for me as to walk into a store and know that I can fit into these things as I thought that day would never come.
Best of Luck,

I had a similar NSV today. I had an amazing suit that I LOVED. By the second week after surgery, I looked like a clown in it. That made me really sad. For a couple weeks, I just wore separates, and then, a navy suit I bought six years ago (!!!!) fit. I've been wearing that for a couple weeks.
Today, I realized that suit was almost too big. I have two other professional outfits before I have to go shopping. And I'll be wearing skirts almost exclusively now, because I don't have any more trouser suits.
It's a nice NSV... because it means that even if the scale isn't moving (and it really isn't moving very quickly for me at the moment), I'm still getting all skinny and stuff. I suppose the doctor would be all confused if I was a size 4 and 200 lbs.... but I don't think many of us would complain too much.
