What are you eat/doing today? Saturday!

So...I have eaten really well this week. Not too much, not too often. Interestingly enough there have been some lessons learned about good eating. Namely:

1. Part of food satisfaction comes from being hungry in the first place. If I let myself actually get hungry, meals are more satisfying.

2. Head hunger can feel like real hunger if you let it. But when you stand it down and stand it down you SLOWLY begin to recognize it more easily.

3. My pouch still works and it is, in fact, still a pouch.

So with that encouragement in mind I am going to attempt my first reasonable eating Saturday. Yikes. As for what I am doing. In about 3 hours I'm going to see that one house (swing chickens for me!) then the girls and I are going to the farmers market, back home for a bit, then to the Y for the divas art class and then they want to work out with me (I love that but it is so strange how they want to do that lately).

Here's my plan for today:

1. 8 oz cottage cheese w/ Splenda, sliced strawberries and 1/2 c. of Fiber One.
(Pre-workout: banana, post-work out perhaps some milk)
2. My brother left me a crabcake in the freezer during his visit. I aim to find it. If I do not, then shrimp and eggs, HOPEFULLY this time with some fresh veggies from the market.
3. Click Frapp
4. Was thinking about faux-fried pork chops with NSA applesauce for dinner. Need a green veggie. I have edamame...
5. 1/2 c. Edy's no sugar-added triple chocolate ice cream

Nik,

I always enjoy your posts!

My day has nothing special planned...

Will probably start with a hard bolied egg. later some fruit. Eventually some greek yogurt plain. Lunch and supper my usual spinach salad with 3 oz of what ever protein is on hand. IF my weight is good this morning, I will have some popcorn tonight.

I envy you folk who can "wing it." I have learned from experience I am not one of those people. I used to resent that. I've since learned to accept it. I need to plan my days or my days rule me. And not in a good way.

I tolerate so few foods....that my choices are really limited.....it is really easier to tell someone what I can eat rather than list what I can't.

I would need to plan everything if I could tolerate a variety of foods because If I COULD eat something I WOULD

got some pullets and a rooster just waiting to be swung!

gotta go to work a New Student Admissions Day at the U.. Big sigh, so wanted to sleep in this morning, but my roofer called at 7:30 (What was he thinkin!) and asked if I could move my car so they could take the trash container to the dump. Not complainin' mind you, but I sure ain't a Saturday morning sunshine on my shoulders kind of gal, especially at 7:30!

B: 1 egg omlette/turkey sausage/strawberries
L: quest brownie bar and an apple (very portable)
S: (after the gym) cheese/crackers and pickles (it's a wierd treat from childhood)
D: salsa chicken, brown rice, peas -- maybe a nice spinach salad for a change up instead of peas, hmmmmm
S: sumptin sweet, sumptin salty? Hmmm, depends on the buds.

Yeah for pouches still working! Mine is often loud and determined to tell me what and what not to eat. I like that she's got a bit of a *****y personality. Keeps me on my toes and, yeah, catering to her needs....

Well my day is almost over, I work 3rd shift from 9 pm -7 am. Before I can call it a night though, I have to take my children to the public library to check out some books. I have absolutely no plans for today, food or otherwise!

I've had a protein hot chocolate and a cup of coffee so far.  I have no idea what I'll eat for the rest of the day!  I'm usually better about planning, but we'll see how this goes... :)

**Update

Morning Snack - half a Quest bar
Lunch - 1 scrambled egg w/ .5 oz cheddar, 2 oz turkey kielbasa and 1/4 of an avocado
Afternoon Snack - 1 small peanut butter cookie

I haven't done too bad so far!

Good morning all!

For breakfast I had a scrambled egg with some cheese and a few chunks of leftover Easter ham. I couldn't fini**** -- we buy our eggs from a local farm and they are gigantic.

Not sure yet what I'm doing for lunch and dinner, or what my plans are for the day other than taking my daughter to a birthday party this afternoon. I exercised consistently all week so I'm giving myself a break for today.

I completely understand your point, Nik, about staring down head hunger. Around 10:00 last night I was craving sweets, my main pre-op weakness. I thought back through the day's eating and I really had no reason to be hungry. I'd eaten reasonalble meals and even had a bite (ok, two bites) of the brownies someone brought to work. I decided to fight the the hunger since it was almost bedtime anyway. I woke up this morning feeling real hunger and had a healthy breakfast. It was hard last night but I'm hoping that like any skill or habit, it gets easier with practice!
