Way to go. I was just taken off insulin for the first time in 33 years. It is totally amazing. Keep up the good work.

Well, I've been on Metformin since I was diagnosed and Victoza since September...the Victoza was stopped immediately after surgery and I'm hoping that the Metformin is stopped soon...

I just went to the endo this week, and I was sure she'd take me off Metformin.  I mean, my diabetes was never that bad, and you hear all the time about people who stopped all their meds after surgery.  Well, I'm 3 months post-op, I've lost 74 pounds altogether and 44 since surgery, my A1C is down to 5.9, my fasting blood sugars range from the 70s to the 90s, and she STILL wants me to stay on 500mg twice a day until I lose at least 20 more pounds.

Sigh.

Thanks!!

That actually is a pic of an original bobblehead that I got when my dad took me to my very first Twins game at Met Stadium in '67...

I still have it...it's taken some knocks so it isn't worth much in terms of $...but it is priceless to me...

Congrats! Those NSVs get addicting, and pop up at the times we need them the most! Can't wait to hear when you are off the meds completely
