I'm 160 pounds and 5'3.I'm wanting to get down to 130. I'm looking for how many calories you eat per day to maintain a weight of 130 pounds? Also how many grams of carbs, fat, sugars do you intake? And when reading labels what is your max amount of grams per serving of carbs/fat/sugars in meals?

I dont have exact figures....but I weigh between 120- 125 and eat about 1500 cals/day...I have not tracked the carbs lately but I don't do sugar or anything with flour or rice in in so that keeps the carbs in check.

I'm 5'4" and weigh 137 currently.  I eat about 1500 calories a day.  I don't count carbs, just limit the starchy stuff.  I stick to 15 grams of sugar or less per meal.  I don't really count fat grams, either, just stick to low fat stuff most of the time.

  • *Eat no fat/lowfat dairy products
  • *Eat simple (fruit) and complex (vegetables, whole grains) Carbohydrates (I do not count daily grams)
  • *No more than 15 grams of Sugar per meal (more grams if able to tolerate-I allow myself no more than a maximum of 30 grams Sugar per meal from Simple and Complex Carbohydrate sources because I do not seem to dump on Sugar)
  • *Eat 3 main meals (B, L, D) no further than 5-6 hours apart
  • *Eat 1 protein snack at 1200 calories a day at least 2-3 hours from breakfast
  • *Eat 2-3 protein snacks at Maintenance calories a day at least 2-3 hours from B, L, D

  • *12-18 Months After Surgery: eat 1200 calories a day (I ate 1200 calories a day until 15 months when I reached my goal weight)
  • *18 Months after surgery (or when goal weight is reached before 18 months): Maintenance calories (BMR/RMR & Activity Level) (Malabsorption of calories lasts approximately 18-24 months) (I eat 1700 calories a day to maintain my weight loss of 200 pounds at a weight of 131 pounds. My height is 5'4")
  • I do not participate in a formal exercise program due to Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis. I do move around a lot more and do a lot more walking.

I am 4 weeks out from surgery and am eating less than 1000 cals a day at this point.  I am sure I will ramp it up in a few weeks when the diet changes a bit.

What's your activity level?  That makes a HUGE difference.  I average about 1600-1700 calories a day, but have days where I get up to 1800 as well.  I'm very active with exercising.

Yep-gotta know your activity.  I eat 1,600-1,900 per day.  But I work out almost every day burning 300-400 calories each time.  I get 100+ grams of protein and carbs daily....I do not count fat.  I eat full fat products when I eat them.  I hate low fat and fat free stuff.

It also depends on your body fat % as to how efficiently your body metabolizes food.....

I am very active, too, and to lose a few (operation 10 lbs is in progress right now) I eat 1400-1600. To maintain I do anywhere from 1900-2200. I'm 5'4. 144.2 this morning and my pants are a 2. Go figure.

Be happy.
