saw my back specialist today

He ordered a new MRI since my last one was three years ago and my back is significantly worse since them.  Which is fine with me except it seemed like a waste of time to have to have an appointment just for that.  We had a five minute discussion and he ordered the MRI and that was it.  No wonder health care is such a mess in this country.  We could have had that discussion on the phone and saved a lot of time and money.

MRI is tomorrow and then I see him again next Tues to go over the results.

and he gets paid for 2 office visits . It is frustrating. My daughters pain s "specialist" just hands her a script NEVER says a word to her ( he doesn't like women very well) she tried to explain that because of the bypass she doesn't absorb her meds as well and he REDUCED the amount he perscribed and started talking about rehabggrrrrrhhhh she really needs a new doc but this is workers comp and she is afraid to change and she isn't real good about taking the bull by the horns.
How did your garage sale go with your sister , I may have missed it when I was in the hospital. I hope all is well and good luck with the results of the MRI

The yard sale was good.  I didn't make a whole lot but I didn't bring that much to sell, either.  So I made a little spending money and got rid of some stuff I didn't need and got to be out in the sun a little.

I hear you...I hate that I have to go in to get a refill on a prescription or need blood work done.   I get there, sit in the waiting room for 30 minutes, go into the exam room and the nurse takes BP, pulse, updates my info, etc., and says the doc will be right in.   Thirty minutes later in he comes and after pleasantries, I tell him I need a refill on the Tramadol and percs (I too have a bad back - 3 bulging discs amongst other things).  So he writes the scrips and then we chat about kids and spouses and the cost of malpractice insurance, and off I go.

As far as backs go, I thought mine would get better as I lost weight, but it's definitely gotten worse.   Did you experience that after your surgery?

Yeah, mine is much, much worse since surgery.  I assume it's not related, but I was also hoping it would get better when I lost weight.  My knees sure did.  But back then, my back problems were intermittent, not constant.  My back didn't wake me up at night hurting.  It's much worse now.

Hi Kelly, are you back home yet?  Are you going to be able to stand laying there on the table for the MRI?
I guess you will huh. Where is your pain level right now?  All of this is so difficult to deal with sometimes.
Anyway, I am having my RNY May 7th and I know I will have questions.  I have been cramming information the last 2 months like a big dog for a college exam.  But there are things I cannot possibly know till after the surgery. I just know that the importance of taking vitamins the rest of my life.  I have been taking mantenance drugs for years now, daily several times a day, so the routine will not be difficult for me because I am disciplined in that area. I refer to you as the go to girl for any imformation especially about vitamins.
Anyway, take care and get this done and then see what's going on.  Talk to you on the net soon!
