Hello!

I am only two weeks out and oh so hungry! This is crazy! I can get in 90+ grams of protein easy. I think I heard my stomack growl, is that possible?!

I also think I can hold a lot more food than I allow myself which is scary.

I am hungry, cranky and tired...

AND, on top of all  that, I am NOT WALKING NEARLY enough!!! It is becoming depressing looking through posts and seeing how much everyone walks.  I know I should not compare myself to others but, geez, I am really starting to feel like a let down.

I want this to be a success and I feel like I am already on the path to destruction. Woe is me.

First you are doing fine.  You have not healed enough to feel full,  so measure measure measure for now.  For me early out a lot of the time I felt hungry is because I needed to drink.  so sip sip sip.  It helps a lot.

Walk as much as you can.  Even if it is only 5 minutes at a time.  It will come.

I am sure you will do fine.

I'm so glad to hear its not just me! I'm just over a week out and I'm getting in my protein in 2oz every hour and then drinking lots and lots of water....but I too feel *hungry*. Its so hard to discern whether its head hunger or real hunger. I even feel my stomach *growl* at times. I'm just keeping track of my protein intake and waiting until I can start the mushy phase.

You are not on the path to destruction.  You are doing fine, and it's going to get much easier very soon.  Just measure everything. like another poster said, and eat VERY SLOWLY (I take 1 small bite every 60 seconds, and yes, I use a timer).  This helps with the head hunger - by slowing me down and making me more mindful of what I am eating, and enjoying the way it tastes and feels.

Stomach growling could be gas.  Gas-X can help.  Be assured that the head hunger gets a LOT better, and the crankiness will pass, as well.  It's no fun to go through, but it's very common, so you are definitely not alone.  I struggled a lot with gas - felt like indigestion, really - for about weeks 2 through 4 or 5.  Haven't had any trouble with it since.  Crankiness is hormonal, so it comes and goes.

Hang in there!  You are on your way - on the right path, too!

Hey,
I am two weeks out also.  I do think our stomach growls.  Mine does right before meal time.  I am on soft foods 1/4 cup three times a day and it just does not feel like enough food to my head, but my pouch is completely happy with it.  This is a learning experience and every day I learn something new.  Keep hydrated, I find that that helps.  I have a set time everyday that I do my major walks and then if I find myself looking for something to do or thinking about food, I just put my headphones on, crank the music and go for another short walk.  Good luck and remember one day at a time.

At two weeks, you're still healing, so don't beat yourself up too much. Yes, you should walk, but it doesn't have to be a marathon

I saw the pictures of my pouch, but I'm tellin' ya, this thing can hold a battleship. I swear. I had nausea problems, but my pouch is steel. I can hold a ton, and the only thing it dislikes is apples.

I had stomach hunger right out - actual hunger, not head hunger, so you're not alone. I wasn't craving things or eating because it smelled good or whatever, it was because it'd been a few hours since I'd eaten, and I was hungry! It'd growl and make all kinds of crazy noises before and after I'd eat. I have a very vocal pouch

Stick with it! I'm four months out, and 55 pounds down.
