Easter Dinner Rant

I'm totally not ready for Easter, all the food and junk that is going to be prepared by other family members. I know I don't have to eat it but it does make me mad how everything and every occasion is about food and pigging out, atleast in my family anyway. I am the only one who haelth conscious in my family and they think I'm "stuck-up" I get so mad and resent the fact that my mom is 350+ pounds and can barely walk and do anything for herself, I don't know why is makes me so mad. I guess in part I feel like some of her weight problem is genetics, but I also feel that she could of controlled some of it and not let herself go so much. I just hope tomorrow goes well and I don't give in, even  just a littel.

Be strong  know that you are doing the right thing for you...Thant being said What about if you make a really healthy dish to bring along with enough for you and some other people to share, or 2 dishes to choose from..dinner and a dessert..Iam sure they dont think your stuck up, they just wish they had made the decision to lose weight like you did and were strong enough to stick with it...who knows you may motivate some people

Good Luck

I completely understand. I have decided to bring games, and urge people to play games with me rather than eat half the day with me. Hang in there! You are Better than they, and you will live longer and alot happier!!

I'm playing a mean trick on all the skinny people, and bringing a bariatric friendly dessert.  :)  It is totally passive aggressive on my part!  Hehehe

I have the same type of family.... my Mom is heavy too and now just blames it on an illness she has ! Every occasion in my family always called for FOOD ! Glad I live 600 miles away on holidays sometimes..... You can be strong, bring a healthy dish or two and don't let them get to you.... they are probably just jealous !! Happy Easter !

You said that holidays are all about pigging out.
It doesn't have to be.

Just because the food is there doesn't mean you are under any obligation to eat it. Take what you want and stop. And if anyone gives you a hard time, just reply, "I'm not hungry." They can't really argue with that. If they say, "But you barely ate anything!" you can tell them that you're full, and you'll have some more when you get hungry again.

I hope you enjoy your holiday.
