What are you eating/doing today? Good Friday!

Even if it isn't "Good Friday" for you, I hope it is at least a good Friday, yes?

Today is a "take it easy" day. I slept a LOT yesterday so I awakened today with a good bit of energy. Found out the sale of the house went through (yay?) so the countdown to moving has begun. Finished filling out the rental application for the house I hope to get, faxed it. My brother and his family came to town for the funeral, including my nephew and new little neice. I wanted to get them both a gift before they go on the road back to Indiana tonight. I got babygirl her very first sock monkey and her brother some Angry Birds stuff (seriously? Kid. Is. Obsessed! I don't get the appeal but whatevs). Now I am home waiting for them to stop through and say goodbye.

I really am feeling a lot better today. Like I said, I have high moments and low ones but I think the sunshine today has helped me a good deal and the sheer fact that I had absolutely nothing I HAD to be doing. That was bliss.

Eats have been "ennnh." I admit I'm glad this is my last Meatless Friday. I eat a lot more when I don't eat meat. So far:

1. 1/2 a leftover crab cake
2. Two Fiber One chewy bars
3. Some of La Grande divas french fries
4. A few bites of La Petite Divas Qdoba Vegetarian Mexican Gumbo Bowl (man, that was good!)

The kids want cheese pizza for dinner. I am not sure what I'll have. I'd love to say I won't have any pizza but at this point I am not so sure. The only thing I can commit to at this point is not going bonkers because lately my pouch has been acting like a pouch, thank goodness.

I have been downing some coffee since I had to get up early for a school play. A 5th grade play that lasts an hour seems much much longer.
I've had peanut butter on things..on toast, on celery, and on bananas.
I'm making a new recipe for dinner..a cauliflower cheese soup made with onions, celery, and carrots. I figure a good way to get vegetables in the boy is to hide them in cheese.
I am also on a greek yogurt obsession.
So peanut butter and greek yogurt mostly.

Nik..I hope  this wont  be too tough of a  holiday for you.  I'll continue to think of you.

Thanks, Deb. My mom was never really big on Easter so I was always sort of on my own for that holiday. Last year we went to Golden Corral for dinner. This year of course we have a million invites. And I still have a fridge full of oh-so-unhealthy food to contend with. Fun times.

But on Mother's Day I am already predicting I will be a hot mess. And you poor, kind souls will have to deal with me. I love you all in advance for that.

My father died while I was pregnant with my son. It's weird days that I miss him. I saw some coverage of the Master's golf tournament..a high holy holiday for my dad.  It's funny what triggers it.
I would make plans for mother's day..something YOU really want to do. I'll bet your mama will be right there with you.

I actually enjoyed our Mother's Day tradition so if I feel up to it I'm going to keep that up. Here in Maryland, each family sort of has their own preferred crab serving restaurant. Ours is called Crab Quarters. We'd go there and eat crabs until we were stuffed. My mother, of course, has an affinity for expensive crabs so she'd order the $100/dozen ones (they are huge).

The crab house is also near the ONLY drive in movies left in Maryland I think. So we might do a night at the drive in. The kids have been wanting to go forever.

This is not "what you are eating thread"..its a Nik and Deb thread!
I want to come to Maryland and eat crab. I eat crab cakes all the time in restaurants. The appetizer portion is a good dinner for me. I would love to eat them in the capitol of crabs!
We drove an hour last summer to go to the Drive In..that sounds like a good way to spend the day.

Per a friend of mine from Seattle, Maryland crabs are "puny."

So I might want to come out YOUR way to try crabs. :)

Today has been a big pouch day.  I'm FAMISHED and I don't know why.  I feel like I could eat a house and I'm trying really hard NOT to.

So far today I've had

B: Protein coffee
S1: Chicken biscuit
L: Thai basil chicken
S2: Protein smoothie
S3: turkey jerky sticks and a few pistachio nuts

I'm headed to the gym in a few so dinner tonight is up in the air.  I'm supposed to go out to celebrate a friends birthday but I'm so sore from my workout on Wednesday that I might have to pass on that outing.

I got my youngest a Mexican gumbo bowl from Qdoba and was seriously hating once I got back home. Why didn't I get one??? Today is Meatless Friday so I got it without meat and it was sooooooo good.

Whatever kinda workouts you are doing, they are, in fact, WORKING. Your neck/shoulder area is looking hella muscular.

Girl yes....I am DIESEL in the shoulders/neck/back.... *in my Macho Man Randy Savage voice* "Oh yeah".  I'm amazed that I have a neck because I never really notiecd it before....and it's a kinda long one at that.  In my head it's long and graceful like a swan...lol.

Now I'm waiting for the majic it to work its way down the rest of this old body...lol.

ETA: Now I'm craving this gumbo bowl thingy.  Never heard of it til you posted this but I shall seek out the closest Qdoba and partake tonight.  Either that or my first love Chiptole.
