OT - We celebrated her home today

I like that term better than "we had her funeral."

I celebrated my mother's life today. That's how she wanted it. Inevitably, though, now I really start the process of mourning her death and figuring out what to do with the space in my everyday life that belonged to her.

But I'm doing ok. Over the last few days I have seen emotional high and lows the likes of which I have not seen in years. I am keeping an eye on myself as I see some of my old depression symptoms resurfacing (wanting to sleep a lot, wanting to withdraw from people, not talk, etc.). But I think awareness is half the battle there.

Thank you all so much for all your PM's, your prayers, your well wishes and thoughts. They have made this otherwise very painful and stressful time a bit less so.

I am so very sorry that your mother has passed on.  God is nigh the broken hearted (Psalm 34:18).  Lean on Him.

Sending prayers your way,

Grief is totally right for now; you're doing what any person would do in your same situation.

So sorry for your loss; I lost my mother 7 years ago and even now I will wake up missing her so badly it will hurt to tears.

She will always be with you in your heart.

I don't think we ever quit missing our moms, but the pain will lessen as time is a healer...

Wrapping you tightly in my heart today.

So sorry to hear the passing of your mother. But it is a wonderful time for her to walk side by side with out Savior. I know it's hard, I've been in your shoes with my father. (This April 11th will be 21yrs he's been gone) But it is our on selfishness that wants them here. Praying for you and your family for comfort.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

You will find a way to work through your grief. It will always be there, but the pain will lessen. The divas need you to be strong and the best momma you can be.

I love the term homecoming.....I wouldn't want my celebration of life to be called anything else. Know that your mom is with you and she is so proud of you I am sure. I have continued to pray for you and your entire family. This is such  rough time but please rely on us here at OH when you feel things spiraling out of control. I lost my Gma who helped raise me 4 years ago. I still go to pick up the phone and call her. I can't even believe I just typed 4 years it seems like it was yesterday. Know this she is in God's loving arms and she is watching over you and your Diva's. You will never be alone she is by your side.
Hugs Nik I wish I had magical words that could take away the pain but I don't so I will pray for you and your loved ones.
Hugs!!!

I have been thinking of you.  I am so sorry that your mother has passed on.  I have no words of wisdom just good thoughts and prayers coming your way!

Nik,

My heart and prayers are with you!  I lost my mom and dad last year.  The hole will always be there, but it will become less painful as time goes by and you'll find that eventually the memories become less filled with pain and more with joy as you remember her life and your life with her.  If you ever just need to share, I'm always willing to listen.  It helped me to share the memories of my parents' lives.  Love...
