YOU KNOW WHAT I HATE????

Ooo, ooo, ooo!!!

When you type out a well thought out, eloquent post, hit "post" and then your broser closes on you and you lose the whole damn thing!!!

Me too!  Know what I do sometimes?  If I'm writing one of my long rambling posts, I write it in a Word doc and save it as I go, then copy and paste it here.  Because I've lost some long posts a couple times and I do hate it.

The other day I was writing a post like that... and it was really good. You know the type where you think, "I really nailed this communication, I really hit the points I wanted to hit" ... then my cat stepped on teh keyboard and when the computer said "are you sure you want to leave this page?" my cat agreed that yes indeed, I wanted to leave the page. ARGH! 

I completely get that. Did that once when I was writing an article for a magazine... I had just finished and thought, "I'll add one more graphic..."

There's a reason I'm a fanatical "save button" person NOW.... all those early accidental deletes. Of course my school computer has taking my recent attempts to save a newly changed file as "Do you really want to not only save changes but also eliminate the master file so all your work is utterly lost?" so when I hit save, it says, "cool, erasing!"

Stupid computers.

Yeah, that blows... I've had that happen to me more times than I can count while updating documents and database items for work.  I've been burned so often that I also take extraordinary precautions when writing up anything sizeable because applications at work just love to blink off as soon as I hit the enter key or any other random time, lol...

Technology... gotta love it AND hate it.

Any time I type something substantial in a browser window, I do a Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to select all and copy to the clipboard... just in case I lose it and need to be able to paste it back in.

So that's your mama? I was thinking of you today.
