OT - I ate a Dorito Taco today

Even in life's hardest moments there can be simple pleasures.

Right after we finished making arrangements at the cemetery, we went to Taco Bell for lunch (my stepdad and I). It was one of those TB's that has a KFC in it. Well, I was pissed cuz they had no pintos and cheese. My original plan was to get a fresco taco and some pintos and cheese.

Then I saw the big azz sign about the Dorito Loco Taco. Now on the whole I have been eating reasonably through this situation. If I can be accused of anything it would be of going inordinate amounts of time between meals and my babygirl has been cracking down on me about that. So I figured...I want one, so what the heck.

O. Em. GEE! That thing is good. Why didn't they think of this earlier??? Literally, it was one of the brighter spots in my day today. Of course this is not everyday fare, but dangit, I'm glad I did it!

The shell tastes exactly like a Dorito and I got the taco supreme so it was all loaded up. I even put the fire roasted salsa on it. I am surprised that one taco seemed to do it for me, but it did.

If you ever find yourself with a bit of extra room in your eating plan or want a moderated treat, this one is definitely worth it.

I just saw an ad for that!
Def going to try it now. Maybe for dinner!
Thanks for the review.

I laugh at the commercial for these tacos.  They go through the list of ingredients and the one that sticks out for the toppings is the low fat sour cream.  Does it really make a difference when you are eating a shell made out of doritos?

I have heard they are good.

Nik, I was real sorry to hear about your Mom. I am glad you have been doing well with food through this. I am worried about how I will handle big life events post-op. Haven't been there yet.

On the taco issue, I have been wanting one of those ever since I saw them advertised. I'm just a couple months out, so it's too early for me. But Doritos are my big weakness. It will probably be better for me if I forget that those tacos exist. Wish me luck with that.

You know I seem to be turning some sort of post-op developmental corner. If a food is a trigger and I buy it, I am screwed. But if I don't buy it, I don't seem that motivated to buy it. Case in point: peanut butter. I was getting out of control with it and didn't buy a new jar. That was about two weeks ago.

I like this phase. I hope it continues.

I use to love Jack-In-The-Box tacos. Something a friend and I use to always get together. But anything fried and ground beef both affect me pretty badly, so now they're out. But now I want a taco...

That taco sounds so good, but I am not ready to indulge just yet. Maybe one day a while from now, but the commercial is killer for I am a HUGE dorrito fan, or shall I say was.
