 Nik,

I'm so sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your girls.

Here's a story from tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom that you might like.

The story is about a little wave, bobbing along in the ocean, having a grand old time.  He's enjoying the wind and the fresh air - until he notices the other waves in front of him, crashing against the shore.
"My God, this is terrible," the wave says.  "Look what's going to happen to me!"
"Then along comes another wave.  It sees the first wave, looking grim, and it says to him, "Why do you look so sad?"
"The first wave says, "You don't understand!  We're all going to crash!  All of us waves are going to be nothing!  Isn't it terrible?"
"The second wave says, "No, you don't understand.  You're not a wave, you're part of the ocean."

-----------------

And from Leonard Nimoy:

What mark will I leave behind?  How will anyone ever know I've been here?  What sign will tell the future traveler that I existed?  Shall I carve it in a door?

"I am here!  Today...  I exist"

I believe the deepest impression is made in those moments when I can say:

" I care.  I love.

Your mother lives through you and your daughters.

Hugs.

I'm so sorry for your loss, may God comfort you during this time of sorrow.

Don't weep at my grave,
For I am not there,
I've a date with a butterfly
To dance in the air.
I'll be singing in the sunshine,
Wild and free,
Playing tag with the wind,
While I'm waiting for thee.
The Comfort and Sweetness of Peace
After the clouds, the sunshine,
after the winter, the spring,
after the shower, the rainbow,
for life is a changeable thing.
After the night, the morning,
bidding all darkness cease,
after life's cares and sorrows,
the comfort and sweetness of peace.

I can't quit imagine what you are going through , your mom was younger than I am . My dad died last week but it was the natural progression of the circle of life , he was 91 , what you have gone through is much more difficult.
I hope your daughter has a special bithday even under the cir****tances.
Our grandaughter died several years ago and she always sends us pennies and I am grateful for the little signd we get from those who have passed , and so grateful for the time she shared her life with us.
Your friends here wil hold you up in prayer or swinging chickens , just pretend we are all with you.
Many Blessings as your broken heart heals , little by little

Nik, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I have not lost anyone yet so I cant even begin to understand how you feel. But I pray that you and your daughters can make the most out of tomorrow. My heart goes out to you and to your daughters who have had to experience loss at such young ages.

Sorry for your loss Nik.  After losing your Mom, life will never be the same.  But it will be okay.

I have been thinking about you since I read your post on facebook/bariatric foodie. There is
no right or wrong way to grieve; prayers are being sent from many who have never met you
but care. As I made your taco casserole for the first time tonight, I prayed as I chopped and cooked.

Blessings to you and the divas and your extended family.

 Nik,
I am so incredibly sorry to hear about your mothers unexpected passing. I lost my father last month unexpectedly as well and I know EXACTLY what you mean about being fine one minute and a sobbing mess the next.
Hang in there mamma. Time helps, but nothing will make it go away completely.
