Because of our better choices boyfriend losing weight too

I have drastically changed the things I cook and obviously my portion sizes, and in turn so has my boyfriend. Obviously he can eat much more than I can but he is actually making better choices on his own as well. Since I started my two week liquid diet on 11/14/11 my boyfriend is down 23lbs. He isn't a huge guy but he is overweight.

Since I start my day out with a protein drink, he does as well. He started drinking my leftover Optifast until that was gone. I think that is a big factor in his weight loss. He used to eat nothing all day and then gorge at night. Now he is having the protein drink for breakfast, and small snacks through the day, and then a healthy dinner. He feels pretty good about it and I am very proud of him. He has gone from 210 to 187 and he is 5'5".

Him eating better with me makes things easier, less temptation when the crap is out of the house.

Anyway.. just thought I would share my boyfriends success!

I sent my DH to my nutrionists office Non Surgical Weight Loss.  He is down over 25 pounds.  This is the first time he is invested in learning a new way of eating.  I am so proud of him.  It does make the whole house easier to deal with... of course i have my 10 year old who hides her GS cookies in her room from dad (he did sneak a samoa and she caught him. LOL).  But she is a healthy eater for the most part.  Fruit and water before cookies and soda.  For that i am grateful.

we went to a BB place last summer and going again this year.  THey take a pix as you leave.  He gave me the pix in my card and said that we are going to be half the people we were last year.  He is almost right.

Good luck to both of you.

That is awesome!! I think it is great when our partners are willing to make changes as well. I didn't want to force anything on him and he made the decision himself which I think is even better for him. He is seeing the loss and getting excited about it!

My hubs has been the same way. He actually had RNY 13 years ago and has fallen on and off the wagon with his weight several times. He had a HUGE loss with his RNY but never got to goal and then had a very large regain and nearly underwent a revision with Band over Bypass several years ago but decided against it and just decided to work his tool. About a year ago he actually got down lower then he ever did in the first several years postop.

Since my surgery, he's been working out and eating a ton better! I hope that he sticks with it this time around and doesn't let those bad habits creep back in. It is both encouraging to see that regain can be dealt with and scary to have seen the ups and downs first hand!

Good luck to both of you guys :).

It's fantastic that your boyfriend is supportive of your efforts and has decided to join you on your journey. Congrats to the both of you!

My husband decided to join weigh****chers a few days after my surgery and has been joining me for work outs. He even had fun doing zumba, but we were laughing pretty hard! The sexier bodies definitely aren't deterring us either

It's great when our significant others support us and join us in our healthier lifestyles. So much easier than having to worry about them trying to sabotage our efforts. We do have a no snacks in the house rule now unless they are healthy. It makes it so much easier to let the craving pass when you actually have to leave the house for your chocolate fix. Neither of us has missed it much. Now if I could just get my daughter on board, sigh, teenagers are so stubborn!
