My test restults came back, I have to get on a Vitiamin D-3 and they said my liver enzymes were high, Im not sure what to make of that...Also they ask me if I would be able to have surgery on April 4th if the one scheduled is cancelled, mine is scheduled for the 11th so a week sooner would be just fine.

any input on the liver enzymes would be great

Vitamin d3 deficiency isn't that uncommon among all body weights.

Ususally fatty liver disease is associated with elevated liver enzymes. It can lead to additional medical issues, but the best treatment for it is to loose/manage weight.  If you're not having pains and there's no indication of any type of cirrohsis you should be okay to go into surgery. (which it sounds like you are). It will be important to stick to the liquid pre diet though. Some doctors have been unable to do WLS in the past due to the increased liver size from NAFLD. So stick to the pre diet!  *smile*

GLon your surgery! Best wishes.

I was also told that rapid weight loss can contribute to high liver enzymes. If you've lost a reasonable amount of weight in a short period of time on your pre-op diet, that can contribute to it. You will continue to see that in your post-op tests as well.

Good luck with your surgery!

Our livers are overtaxed when we are big and also when we are in the rapidly losing weight stage.
I love studying about the liver. It's an amazing organ..but I'm weird that way.
Another kind thing you can do is not drink alcohol for the first year after surgery to be nice to your already overtaxed beautiful liver!
