I've had 4 surgeries then epidural steroid injections 5 times over a period of 3 years, none of them did any good. I also tried the tens unit. That didn't do any good either. I know I have to live the degenerative disc disease but since losing weight I haven't had many problems.

My back problems have gotten significantly worse since my WLS.  I don't think that's due to my WLS, but that's what has happened.  I'm aware that I may just have to live with it but I'm not quite ready to accept that yet.

I had RF ablation on both my legs a few years ago.  It was amazing!  It removes the pain signal but you retain complete feeling.  They did it from the knee down, so I have no idea of the risks further up the nerve chain.  That's definitely something to discuss with the pain management specialist.  A good one (and it's kind of hit or miss finding a good one) is worth his/her weight in gold.  I've also had several nerve block injections and a few steroid injections.  They were temporary at best.  The RF for me was a better and longer lasting result.

Kelly, have you ever tried an electronic pulse massager?  I find this to be heaven when my back is acting up.
