Had a bad day today. It started out so well, too.
My son had a week full of stickers on his chore chart, so he got to choose a special treat today. He chose ice cream from the outdoor ice cream shop that is a historical landmark in our town. So we went over. He got a cone, and I got a small cup of vanilla for my daughter.
I ate a few spoonfuls of the ice cream. About half a dozen, total. And all the while, my head is screaming, "What are you DOING?? You're going to be so sick!"
I didn't dump, but I had my usual sugar-reaction...a little stomach upset, some belching, and a little sweat.
Then I drove an hour to visit my grandmother, and they got Subway for dinner. I ordered a tuna sub in a flatbread wrap. I cut off about 2.5" of the wrap for my dinner. I ate the tuna and veggies and about half the bread. But I should have left the bread alone. It filled me up too much and now my pouch is VERY unhappy with me. Ug.
And to top it all off, I have had almost zero water today. So, general fail all around. Fantastic.

Not drinking water is my big thing on weekends too. That and not eating real food.
I hear you on the head screaming. I get in places where I'm shoveling in some cereal, or my third hot chocolate for the day and telling myself to stop, don't eat that, quit it and I don't listen. It's hard. Sometimes my hand to mouth has a mind of it's own!!!
I keep "healthier" options for times like that. Pickles. Dried dates. Cut up fruit. So yes I'm overeating, or eating when I don't need to, but it's a form of damage control by limiting what I can choose.
I don't eat sugar so I haven't done the "real" ice cream thing - but give me a half gallon of NSA ice cream and it's bad. I don't buy it often.
Your day just has to get better from here - there's no other option left, right?

Thanks for the encouragement. :) Yep, it's gotta get better. I'm gonna slam down a bunch of water tonight while I finish my laundry and watch silly comedies. I don't have to be up early tomorrow, so it should be a good night.
I hope yours is going well, too!
And you're absolutely right, some of the hand-to-mouth stuff is so automatic that even when I'm fully aware of it and know I need to stop, I still can't. I have two big trigger foods--ice cream and pasta. And apparently, the draw to them both is just as strong post-op as it was before, so I really need to just avoid those situations. In an effort to keep my kids in healthy habits, I should probably implement a "no food treats" rule for his weekly chore chart. Entice him to choose something more active and involved than just eating something yummy.

No words of wisdom, just wanted to say sorry you had a bad day.
That's what I call a "write-off" day. When you are a year out and down a good deal of weight you'll look back and find there are some days you had to write off but far more where you did what you were supposed to do.
One at a time as always. Onward and DOWNward ;)
