Medifast has a soft serve that's protein rich.
Also, you can freeze protein and not denature it. How about some experimenting with your powders?

Ooooh. I think I know how to make green tea protein ice cream. I'll post it if it works!

Just a side note. I don't think for our purposes denaturing of protein is a valid factor. Protein changes form due to changes in temperature, yes. But a similar process happens to protein in non-op stomachs when it encounters gastric acid.

The evidence is also dodgy that denatured protein is useless to our bodies. Just thought I'd throw that out there. If you are behaving in any one way or another because you are afraid your protein won't "work" there is just not great evidence that this is a factor - for post-ops or anyone.

I WAS AN ICE CREAM JUNKIE BEFORE THE SURGERY now if i have a craving for it i get a healthy choice fudgecycle it taste just like the real thing and it has less then 100 calories, its a snack for me...not so many sugar around 6-9g and carbs around 10..  i dont enjoy it daily but occasionally and it takes the cravings away... but listen to your body if you can eat one then go ahead if you start feeling sick then its time to stop and eliminate ice cream for good

I have a Gelato Lello, Jr ice cream maker. It has its own built in compressor, so there is nothing to freeze and it is always ready to make a batch of ice cream.  I use protein shakes, but add some sugarfree cool whip to make it creamier and tastier.  It allows me to eat a lot of ice cream without dumping and while increasing my protein intake.

I have been a longtime follower of Dr Atkins.  He believed a good ice cream maker was one of the secrets of staying low carb and high protein for a lifetime.

Oh no, I just bought some carb smart no sugar added ice cream.  It has 2 g of sugar per 1/4 cup serving.  I'm scared to try it.  Do you think that might be okay?  I drink Trop 50 and it has 10 g of sugar.  I am terrified of dumping!

I have not had a problem with No sugar added ice cream. Of course, that doesn't mean that others won't, but just me personally

I am sensitive to sugar and that works fine for me.

Nik...Carb Smart doesn't "do" things to your insides? When I tried it pre-op it wasn't user friendly.

Nope. No ill effects for me. So long as I only eat the serving size!
