Hi Guys,
I start my liquid phase for my surgery tomorrow and my doctor told me to choose the type of liquid protein drink wanted to use. Only problem is I'm very picky and I have weird taste buds. Do any of you guys have any good suggestions on a good protein shake? My fave flavor is CHOCOLATE!!!!!!

Everyone has a different opinion on the taste of the powders, so you really need to try samples to decide what you like. Some places online will send you free samples and others will send them for a nominal fee. Considering you can spend $20 or more for a canister or bag of powder, you want to make sure you get what you will use.

I suggest getting a whole bunch of samples from vitalady.com so you can try them out and see what you like. I'm curious about why you're just now deciding what you're going to drink tomorrow. Are you planning on going shopping still tonight? You can get single servings of many shakes at places like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, if it's not too late where you live. Those places are all closed for the night where I am. What were you planning to have in the morning when you get up?

Well, that's a good reason to not be prepared.

I already have the Slimfast low Carb shakes which my nutritionist had me get and try. They are okay I'm just looking for other alternatives that may taste better. I also have Optifast shakes as well. Like I said I'm just looking at my options on the different types of protein shakes out there that may have a better taste than these. I've tried myoplex and medifast and didn't like those. Just looking for different ones until I find one that suits me.

There is a whole list in your patient manual for the pre-op diet. It is also available on their website. I'm partial to SlimFast, Isopure and Syntax Nectar myself. Since your tastes will probably change post-op, getting samples for now is the way to go. Come to the support meeting on the 6th or 8th and I'm sure you will get plenty of recommendations.
